Third Fatima Prophecy: Truth and Fiction

For almost a century, the Fatima prophecy has been causing heated debate among theologians and worldly scholars. In fact, this is not one prediction, but three. Two of them became known almost immediately after the Fatima miracle occurred. The last, most important, Catholic church kept secret for more than half a century. His contents were published by the pope only in 2000. A new debate flared up around him.

Fatima Prophecy
Someone fully believed the honesty of the Catholic leadership, someone decided that the church hid the real text of the prophecy or did not fully disclose it. However, to begin with, we recall what exactly happened and who voiced these predictions.

The Fatima prophecy was made by a little girl, a resident of the Portuguese village of Cova de Iria, located near the city of Fatima in 1917. She received it, according to her, from the lips of the Virgin herself. On May 13, three children — a boy and two girls grazing cattle in the vicinity of the city — saw a strange beautiful and very young woman next to an oak tree in white clothes and a rosary in her hands. This was extremely unusual, and therefore Lucia asked the radiant lady where she came from. In response, the woman told the child that she had come down from heaven. With childish spontaneity, Lucia asked why. In response, the lady asked the children to come under this oak every thirteenth and promised that she would tell about who she was and what she needed in October.

Third Fatima Prophecy
Thus began the story that led to the prediction, which is known as the "Fatima prophecy." The next day that the children saw the Virgin, the whole village became aware. June 13, a huge number of people gathered near the oak. The Blessed Virgin appeared to the children several times precisely on the 13th, although no one else saw her. She talked only with Lucia. In the course of communication with this girl, all three predictions were received.

The first Fatima prophecy announced the imminent end of World War II. The second concerned Russia. The Blessed Virgin predicted a future revolution, victory in World War II and persecution of the church. The last prophecy - the third - was made in October. Perhaps this case would have remained unknown to anyone if it had not been for the miracle that was seen by all the audience present in the amount of about one hundred thousand people.

As soon as Lucia received the third Fatima prophecy, something very strange happened in the sky. The sun suddenly turned pale, and its rays became rainbow. After that, it moved from its place and flew a stone to the ground. Everyone who watched this fell to their knees with fear. The church recognized the case as genuine and confirmed that the children saw the Mother of God. In 1957, Lucia handed the pope in a sealed envelope the text of the third prophecy she received.

Fatima miracle third prophecy
At the same time, she insisted that it be made public no earlier than 1960. In 59, several priests opened the envelope to prepare a prediction for publication. However, after reading its contents, church representatives decided to keep it a secret.

It was published only after 83 years after the Fatima miracle happened. The third prophecy contained a description of a vision that appeared before the eyes of children in October 1917. According to Lucia, they observed a procession of priests and believers ascending a mountain with a cross on top. On the way, the pope and ministers of the church passed a city in which there were a lot of corpses. As soon as the procession climbed the mountain, soldiers appeared who shot the holy people.

The church interpreted this as a prediction of the attempt on Pope John II, which happened, oddly enough, on May 13, but in 1981. However, many scholars doubt that such an important prophecy could concern only the church. From that veil of secrecy that hung over him for more than half a century, one could judge that it contains no less than a prediction of the end of the world or something like that.

However, the whole truth about the true content of this prophecy is known only to priests. Lucia died in 2005, never revealing this secret to anyone. Her brother and sister left this world as children.

Whether the church told the truth or lied is unknown to anyone. Prophecy published. And everyone is free to interpret it in his own way.
