In St. Petersburg, the St. Petersburg State Academy of Veterinary Medicine invites you to receive a veterinary education. History and specialties of the Academy
At the beginning of the XIX century, scientists from St. Petersburg thought about the need to train specialists in veterinary medicine, because infectious animal diseases were very common in the state - plague, pneumonia, and anthrax were raging. In 1808, a veterinary department was established at the Imperial Medical-Surgical Academy, operating in the city. So the roots of the current university were laid.
The department worked until 1873. Then he was transformed into a veterinary institute. After 10 years, the school was closed. The city stopped training veterinarians. Changes occurred after several decades. In 1919, the Petrograd Veterinary and Zootechnical Institute was opened. From this institution in the future the St. Petersburg Veterinary Academy grew.

"Veterinary Medicine"
Offering the veterinary science direction to applicants, the academy fulfills its historical mission, because it was with the training of veterinarians that the history of the educational institution began in the early 19th century. Students who study in this specialty are given very good knowledge. Classes are taught by highly qualified teachers. Approximately 75% of employees have advanced degrees.
St. Petersburg State Veterinary Academy has an important advantage - 8 museums. Students study anatomical exhibits, get acquainted with macro drugs on pathologies and various diseases in animals. Students are also offered drawings made in the 30s of the last century and reflecting diseases.

People with secondary general education enter a university only according to the results of the exam. In the absence of any subject, it is impossible to act, because entrance tests are not provided for this category of persons. Applicants with vocational education have a choice - to take subjects in the form of the exam or pass the entrance tests, which are offered by the St. Petersburg State Academy of Veterinary Medicine. In total, 3 subjects are being handed over. In all areas of preparation, they are the same:
- Russian language;
- maths;
- biology.
To apply, you must pass the math at least 28 points, and the Russian language and biology - at least 40 points. These points do not guarantee budget revenues.
