Surely every avid fisherman has encountered such a problem as a broken spinning! It is sad, pathetic, and even a little offended that I did not have time to sit on the shore and enjoy fishing. But there is nothing to be done, and the time has come to make a decision regarding the further fate of the fishing tool. You can contact a company that repairs spinning rods and rods, throw it away and buy a new one, or try to repair it yourself.
Let's see how you can repair your spinning rods with your own hands, because this procedure is not very complicated. The most important thing is to save your own money, since repairs will cost a decent penny, and buying a new spinning rod is even more expensive.
- First you need to find a tube of suitable length, which should be 1.5-2 times longer than the size of the crack. As for the diameter, it should go into the rod with a slight effort. For these purposes, a piece of the old rod is quite suitable, so do not throw away the broken equipment, as it may still come in handy.
- To perform a spinning repair, you need to prepare a piece of a flat spinning cord. If it is not, then you can use the usual kapron thread.
- Next, you need to prepare the epoxy resin. It is advisable to use a three-component, but a two-component one will also work perfectly. One main requirement for it is moisture resistance.
- If the rod in the place of breaking experiences an increased load or there is simply a desire to strengthen this area, then you need to find a piece of fiberglass. A rectangular or trapezoidal piece should be cut from it, the length of which would be equal to the length of the tube prepared in the first stage. Its width should be such that it would be enough to completely wrap the rod in the place of breaking and still have a small margin. Now you need to moisten it in epoxy and let it dry a little, then cut it so that after wrapping the edges of the patch fit snugly against each other.
- You should also prepare pieces of tape and tape from the video cassette. On this, the list of necessary ingredients ends, and the repair of the spinning itself begins.
- The tube prepared in the first step should be moistened in epoxy and inserted into one part of the broken spinning, after which, gently holding, put on the second.
- The fiberglass pattern prepared and dipped in epoxy should be wrung out and wrapped around the rod. Spinning cord must be wound tightly over the fabric to reinforce the fracture site.
- The next step is to fix the film with tape 10 centimeters from the place of breakage and wrap it over fiberglass. It is necessary to wind it round to round and very tightly to squeeze out the excess resin. If you wrap the shiny side inward, then it will not stick. The work of winding the cord and film requires a lot of attention and diligence, but otherwise the repair of the spinning rods is not carried out.
- The last step is to remove the excess glue mass and dry the rod. For these purposes, you can use a hairdryer. After the glue dries, you can remove the film and carry out a small cosmetic repair. That's all. Using such a fairly simple technique, you can repair any rod, even spinning Lamiglas.
