Faithful friend

Everyone knows that a devoted friend is the most precious thing in the world. Often people say that they don’t need friends because they have a loved one. However, in fact, because a loved one or a beloved also becomes a friend for us, therefore, there is no one closer to them. A devoted friend will never give up in difficult times, he will guess how much you need him at that moment. However, the problem usually happens that often we take for friends completely strangers people with whom we share common interests at a certain period of our lives. And friendship - it should be for life, and not for a while.

How much joy is given to us by friends who are able to support and help in difficult times even with their presence. People very often like to idealize their environment and see the qualities of a friend in those people who do not possess them at all. And therefore, the most painful thing to experience is betrayal by those who have been let into the soul. Although people say that a faithful friend does not betray, we do not quite agree with this. Friends, after all, are also people with all their shortcomings and advantages. And the main indicator of the truth of friendship is the ability to forgive, even after many years.

Many writers and poets wrote about the importance of supporting a friend in difficult times, discussing the topic of betrayal, admiration for a friend, etc. But the parable of the great writer Oscar Wilde “A devoted friend” is especially interesting. The parable begins with the fact that An interesting high society begins a conversation about friendship. So, duck, Water Rat and Linnet speak of a faithful friend. And through the last, Wilde gives us his story. Once upon a time there lived a kind young man named Hans. Most of all he loved his little garden with flowers. Naturally, such a kind person had many friends. However, the Big Miller was considered the closest. Despite the fact that he was very rich, his friendship was to pick a huge bouquet of flowers from Hans's garden each time, collect more fruits and go home. And the miller motivated all this with the fact that real friends should share everything. However, he himself did not help Hans, did not visit him during the winter cold, as he did not invite Hans to his home, so that their friendship would not suffer because of the envy of the poor, kind young boy. Spring came, Miller decided to go to Hans for flowers. A devoted friend, Hans, gave Melnik the whole basket of flowers, although he was going to sell them and buy his car, because in winter he had to tight, and he laid it. Rich Miller said that he would give him his broken wheelbarrow, which Hans was happy to repair, because he had a brand new board. However, the “faithful” miller asked him to repair his roof with this board. Hans agreed, and then he began to fulfill more and more new requests, and he completely abandoned the work in his garden. The denouement is very close. Miller’s child fell ill, and he asked Hans to go see a doctor, despite a terrible storm. And he even regretted the lantern, because a young guy can break it, and he is completely new. And now, Hans, despite the bad weather, still got to the doctor, but died on the way back. At the funeral of the poor man everyone was grieving, because he was very kind and everyone loved him very much. But Melnik especially grieved, because he was the closest person in the world to Hans, had the qualities of a friend and was going to give him a car.

Wilde's fairy tale-parable is just as well suited to the topic of our article. One must be able to distinguish true friends from those who, under the guise of a friend, use everyone and enjoy kindness. And such people, unfortunately, are becoming more and more. People forget that in the world, besides their interests, there is also friendship, love, bestowal. After all, it is precisely those who know how to appreciate all of the above qualities that can be called real friends.
