Self polishing machines at home

Polishing the machine is necessary to maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance and protect the body from the effects of the external environment and microcracks. Small cracks formed on the lacquer coating can provoke metal corrosion. Polishing the car body is divided into two stages: first protective, then restoration.

The technology is quite laborious and expensive. In order to save your money, the procedure can be carried out independently. To do this, you must have:

  • professional polishing machine ;
  • two foam rubber circles (rough and soft);
  • abrasive paste of three types: rough, with a small abrasive and non-abrasive (scrubbing);
  • polishing compound;
  • cotton napkins or rags;
  • if necessary - white spirit.

Do-it-yourself polishing will take about 2 hours. First you need to thoroughly wash the car body under running water (from the hose). If all the dirt has not washed off, use white spirit or special abrasive clay. Dry the surface of the machine with a clean and dry cloth. After preparing the car, you can begin the polishing process.

A small amount of coarse paste is applied directly to the surface of the polished area of the car. On a plot of 40 * 40 cm, 10-20 grams of solution will be required. Polishing of the machine occurs gradually, due to the quickly drying abrasive. A polishing wheel with a rough surface is put on a special machine. Not including the device, spread the paste on the site. Turning the machine on to the slowest mode, polish the surface with crosswise movements. First horizontally, then vertically. This will make polishing even. Such movements are repeated several times: with a slow mode of operation of the machine and with fast. Wipe the remaining traces of the paste with a clean soft cloth.

DIY polishing

After completing the first section, begin work on the next in the same way. After 3-4 passed sections, the foam rubber circle is washed in warm water.

The circle is dried at the maximum speed of the polishing machine.

It should be noted that when polishing a car, low and medium speed cars are used. By turning on the maximum speed, you can damage the body.

Using fine abrasive paste, the procedure is repeated. Having finished with it, we can assume that the protective polishing of the machine is completed.

You can go into recovery. This procedure is much simpler.

Car body polishing

On a typewriter, the rough foam rubber disc changes to a circle for soft polishing. A protective paste (non-abrasive) is applied to a cotton cloth or napkin. She rubbed the body of the car in a circular motion. As soon as the paste begins to dry, the machine turns on at medium speed, the surface is polished in a circular motion. After that, a protective polish is applied. The same actions are performed as with non-abrasive paste.

The polishing of the machine is over. It is recommended to carry out the procedure regularly, every 3-4 months. Such prevention will allow the car body to always be protected and beautiful.
