Layered plasterboard ceilings: modern, beautiful, profitable

Any apartment renovation is carried out according to the same principle: “from window to door” and “from top to bottom”. That is why, most often, the owner begins the repair work in the house from the ceiling. And although it seems that the ceiling plays a secondary role in the apartment, the impression of the whole room will largely depend on its quality and interior design.

But how to make a house beautiful and cozy if its ceiling irregularities and various defects are so obvious and the differences are so great that sometimes it is almost impossible to hide them? And if the house is still old, the floors between floors are in terrible condition, and after dismantling unnecessary partitions, inappropriate beams come out from somewhere? What to do here? Hands drop!

The way out of this situation will be multilevel gypsum plasterboard ceilings . They can become a blanket covering all flaws and shortcomings, and will allow you to create a modern, beautiful, unusual design that can emphasize the peculiarity of each room.

Drywall ceiling can be multi-level and single-level. A simple one-level is a classic solid, attracting no attention. But multi-level - it's just a fairy tale!

Multilevel drywall ceilings can consist of two, three and even four levels and not only hide defects in the ceiling plane, but also divide the rooms into separate zones.

Quite often, apartment owners install patterns in the form of small geometric shapes (oval, square, rhombus), which are located in the center or corners of the ceiling. Modern homes sometimes represent one large, open room, the so-called studio. But after all, for the convenience of living in such a room, its proper organization is required. In the apartment, two zones are mandatory: personal and public. They may include numerous mini-zones: a place for eating, for relaxing or for work. And if the room has practically no walls, functional areas can be created using various ceiling levels. For example, we can see on the ceiling an oval, which is an exact copy of the dining table in the dining room. You can somehow allocate a bed, a bar or a bathroom. Even the transition from one area to another can be distinguished by applying such a technique.

As a rule, the selection of zones in the room also helps with the decoration of the floor, for example, the so-called podiums or floors with different texture and color.

Multilevel drywall ceilings successfully help to solve another problem: visually "raise" the ceiling. Designers are well aware of this technique: the feeling of an increase in space in one room is due to a decrease in another. And if you want to at least visually increase the dining room, you should lower the ceiling level, for example, in the hallway. The base ceiling can also be distinguished with the help of other design “tricks”: lighting, textures, colors, etc.

Experts advise multilevel drywall ceilings only in those rooms where the base ceiling has a height of at least three meters. Otherwise, a room with low ceilings will become even lower, because the installation of multi-level plasterboard ceilings will make the room’s height lower. At least fifteen centimeters.

Plasterboard ceilings are undesirable to install in kitchens, bathrooms. This is due to the fact that such a surface absorbs odors and moisture very well, and over time it loses its attractiveness, and for the hall and living room it fits perfectly, as it has high sound and good thermal insulation. For the bathroom, you can use high humidity material.

Drywall is a fairly light, plastic, environmentally friendly, fireproof sheet material. It is reinforced with special metal supports, and the support beams are then mounted on the ceiling, that is, they create a metal frame. DIY prefabricated multi-level drywall ceilings are easy to install. But a self-made surface will be beautiful if the number of levels is no more than two. But with ceilings with a large number of levels, only specialists can cope.
