The Lamborghini Diablo is a mid-engined sports car designed and manufactured by the Italian company Lamborghini from 1990 to 2001. He became the first car in the line, capable of speeds of 335 km / h. The name came from the name of a bull who had a fight in a bullfight in an epic battle with bullfighter José de Lara on July 11, 1869.
Development
In 1978, Lamborghini went bankrupt, and control of the company passed to the Swiss Jean Claude and Patrick Mimran. When the financial situation stabilized, it was decided to create a new Lamborghini-Diablo model. The project involved an outstanding designer Marcello Gandini, who introduced the futuristic design of the supercar for that time.
While the work was going on, the company was bought by the auto giant Chrysler Corporation in 1987. The appearance of the sports car for some reason did not like the new owners. The management instructed the Chrysler Styling Center to redesign the model to simplify the design and to give the body a more streamlined shape. Gandini criticized this step and subsequently with the team of specialists who left Lamborghini, embodied in the metal project Cizeta-Moroder.

Until 1999, there were three Diablo lines: SV, VT, and Roadster. The youngest is the Lamborghini Diablo SV modification, equipped with a 5.7-liter V-12 engine. It allows you to squeeze 529 horsepower (in the early versions - 517 hp.).
As standard equipment, an adjustable rear spoiler is installed, which can be painted in body color. Other external changes include:
- stylish black insert between the rear lights;
- rear "fog";
- dual front fog lights (rather than quadrangles, used before 1995 on all previous models);
- additional cooling channels for the front brakes.
The SV also features larger front brakes (340 mm) and a corresponding increase in wheel size to 18 inches.
Diablo SE30
The SE30 was introduced in 1993 as a special limited edition model dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the company. The car was designed primarily as a street sports car, which is lighter and more powerful than the standard Lamborghini Diablo.

Diablo gt
In 1999, Lambo launched the GT series with a 6-liter 575-horsepower V-12 engine. When tested on special routes, the car developed a top speed of 338 km / h. The charged Lamborghini Diablo received a new instrument cluster, a redesigned center console, a different steering wheel and updated door panels. They also touched on the technical stuffing, especially the body, anti-lock braking system and brakes. In total, 80 units of a sports car of this modification were collected. A version of the GTR for racing tracks was also released. To minimize weight, heat and sound insulation, a stereo system, and air conditioning were removed from the interior. The glass side windows were replaced with light plexiglass. Inside, there is only one racing seat with a 6-point belt. In order to increase safety, the cabin is reinforced with a frame, an automatic fire extinguishing system is installed. Diablo VT
In 2000, a modification of VT was released. It uses carbon fiber components, improved upholstery materials and more varied finishes.
