Shadow economy in Russia

The shadow economy in Russia is considered an industry that is actively developing and is gaining momentum every year. This is called an economy in which there are organizations that operate outside the scope of the law. That is, the operation of these companies in the country is illegal, as it is not confirmed by the relevant state authorities.

Experts say that the shadow economy in modern Russia includes certain aspects, which include a fictitious, informal and criminal economy. The first involves the creation of ties based on corrupt relations, for example, obtaining various benefits or subsidies through the advance payment of bribes. In addition, there is the so-called gray market or the informal economy. This sector includes conducting seemingly small and insignificant operations, for example, tutoring lessons, unofficial rental of premises, sheltering the scale of profit from tax authorities. However, the shadow economy in Russia is developing significantly thanks to this sector. The state of the country on the world stage and the welfare of citizens depend on the consciousness of citizens and respect for legislative acts. And, of course, the criminal sphere or, as it is also called, the black market is considered the most dangerous activity for society. After all, this particular type of business is officially prohibited by law, which means that it is strictly punished by the judicial authorities. In particular, these include the distribution of narcotic drugs, trafficking in one's own body, that is, prostitution, smuggling, and much more.

The shadow economy in Russia: the main reasons for its active development.

Among the list of the main factors in the development of illegal activities in the country, it is customary to single out the degree of state intervention in the functioning of business entities. As you know, the government, using various regulatory tools, affects the activities of a company or sector of the economy. For example, by reducing or increasing the tax rate, government agencies can either help in further development, or restrain it. In addition, there is a system of subsidies and subsidies through which the state helps the industries necessary for the development of the economy . Thus, the shadow economy in Russia arises from the moment when the control of the government over the activities of economic entities is weakening.

Features of the Russian economy due to the financial crisis. There is still a process of restoration of various industries and business areas, so the crisis can be considered over only conditionally, because the depressed state is still present in the masses. Due to the collapse of the entire financial system, a huge part of the population lost their jobs, and hence their livelihoods. High unemployment necessitates the creation of additional ways to earn money, albeit illegal. Thus, private entrepreneurs organize their own business without prior registration, because then you do not have to pay exorbitant taxes and overcome the wall of bureaucratic clearance.

The accelerated pace of development of the shadow economy in Russia was noted during the period of the 90s, when the transition from one system to another generates a social boom. Impunity for any action leads to mass aggression and unrest in the country. At the moment, the government is realistically assessing the degree of danger of the further growth of shadow relations, therefore, it is working to create conditions that are most favorable for legal transactions. Particularly in this matter, private entrepreneurs and small business owners suffer, which is why the state has issued many decrees that mitigate the tax burden.
