How much water you need to drink per day: consider your water!

What benefits are usually expected from a proper water balance? Most people, first of all, will call the lack of thirst, and this is certainly a very important point. They know very well how much water you need to drink per day, women who want to lose weight. Here the question is about the correct metabolism, water-salt balance and such a common problem as edema. In a healthy person, edema can occur only due to excess salt in the body, it is it that retains water and is the cause of edema. However, in order to eliminate edema due to salt, you need not to reduce the amount of water you drink, but rather, increase the rate. How much water do you need to drink per day to relieve swelling caused by salt? If you do not adjust the diet and limit the salted and smoked, then you will have to throw another liter, or even two, above the norm, and the average norm of an average person is exactly two liters of water per day.

All recommendations regarding how much water to drink per day are usually tied to some averaged data. The average person’s weight here is taken approximately 70-75 kg, without hard physical work in a comfortable environment, with average physical activity - of course, such indicators are far from possible for everyone. The amount of water required increases or decreases depending on the change in any of the above parameters. On a hot day or during high physical exertion, the body itself regulates how much water to drink per day - there is no escape from thirst.

The question is completely different: we cannot always distinguish the feeling of thirst from the feeling of hunger. Affects the abundance of drinks, one way or another supplying calories. The line between thirst and hunger in the mind is blurred, and for some reason we begin to consider soups, tea and coffee, all kinds of sweet carbonated drinks, dairy products for drinking. Against this background, the perception of how much water you need to drink per day is distorted to the extreme - the total amount of liquid, including drinks, soups and liquids to be compensated, should be considered according to the formula “required amount of water plus liquid food and drinks”. For example, milk and soups are considered food, not drink, and coffee even requires double compensation with water, that is, two cups of pure water are required for a cup of coffee.

A particularly serious problem is not even how much water you need to drink per day, but how exactly to drink it, and what kind of water. By default, pure water is considered water, not drinks. Do not try to squeeze a liter that is missing the norm at a time at a time, this will not lead to anything good. In most cases, the best result is the presence of a bottle of clean water at arm's length at any given time. If, for example, you put a bottle on your desktop, it may turn out that only one and a half liters of water will be drunk in a working day. A sip or two with a small frequency will not overload the stomach, will not cause a feeling that you are pouring water by force.

It is worth noting that many former smokers note that the desire to smoke is washed down well with a few sips of water. A certain ritual of substitution is being carried out, and if you set yourself the task of drinking enough water, then this is a good and proper substitute for cigarettes. When choosing water, it is best to give preference to table water of weak mineralization, it allows you to make up for the deficiency of potassium and calcium, which can occur due to an increase in the norm of water. The use of medicinal mineral water is justified strictly for medical purposes, but table mineral water is used in a certain amount. If more water is required by the nature of your activity, body weight, and other factors, then you can make up for its deficiency by using filtered water, herbal teas and fruit decoctions, that is, stewed fruits without sugar and its substitutes.
