PP-2000. PP-2000 - a brief description. Characteristics, photo

The appearance of submachine guns is associated with an ever-increasing need for weapons by the police departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which can effectively fight in the city with minimal casualties among the civilian population. Quite active work was carried out in this direction, and most of the developments turned out to be successful. So, the submachine gun was put into serial production, then followed by the adoption of the military units. The history of the PP-2000 begins in the last century with the first automatic weapon, which was released in 1915.

Definition of the term

The concept of such weapons as a “submachine gun” was given even when compiling GOSTs (GOST No. 28653-90). In Russia, this definition is valid to this day. So, the submachine gun stands for "a kind of machine gun, the design of which provides for the possibility of firing cartridges for the pistol."

At first glance, it’s a little complicated, although it’s nowhere simpler. In this case, the term "automatic" means a shortened weapon - a carbine that has an automatic firing mode. It is designed to fire with both hands or with emphasis on the shoulder. This definition allows us to separate the two types of weapons that are used for automatic shooting - pistols and submachine guns.

General information about the submachine gun

The appeared automatic weapons were not immediately appreciated by consumers, and work progressed slowly. However, the Chuck war made it clear that traditional weapons do not always help achieve goals. And 1935 was the starting point for the development of new models of submachine guns.

So, pistol ammunition is used for shooting. Due to the low-power cartridge, a weapon can have relatively small dimensions and weight. The scope of the sight does not exceed 200 meters. The main way of firing is firing with single shots, automatic shooting is an auxiliary method.

This type of weapon, in particular the PP-2000 submachine gun, has been put into service with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is a fairly effective type of weapon in anti-terrorist operations.

It was developed at the Tula Design Bureau in 2001. This is a personal development of the head of the Instrument Design Bureau, Professor V.P. Gryazeva. The co-authors of the project were weapons specialists B.A. Volkov and B.I. Kuznetsov. The PP-2000 was officially introduced to a wide range of stakeholders in 2004.

PP-2000: a brief description

When creating a submachine gun, the task was to develop a relatively light automatic weapon, which should have high efficiency and in technical terms not be inferior to the best world models. Moreover, the PP-2000 should be effective even under the condition that arrows with an average level of training will use it.

I must say, the developers coped with the task. This is a weapon with a free bolt, which has a trigger trigger mechanism. The fuse, having a flag type, designers located on the left side of the weapon. Its location is such that it is very convenient for them to control the thumb. For him, the optimal pace and ergonomics were chosen, which allows for accurate aimed fire.

Of particular interest is the parameter of the PP-2000 submachine gun, such as the rate of fire - it is the smallest in comparison with imported weapons of the same type. The designers were able to achieve this not due to special moderators, but due to the dynamic parameters of the trigger and the technical characteristics of the spring. No analogs have been invented yet.

The performance characteristics

The main parameters, at first glance, do not differ much from samples of weapons of this type:

  • unfolded length 582 mm;
  • length with folded barrel 350 mm;
  • caliber 9 mm;
  • used cartridges for firing 9x19 (Lugger / Parabellum), 9x19 7N31;
  • magazine capacity 20-44 cartridges;
  • firing range 200 m (there is evidence that up to 300).

Here some explanation should be given regarding the discrepancy in numbers. There are two modifications - 2004 and 2006. Naturally, in two years, especially for mass production, there were certain design improvements and changes. Well, besides, the information is not too open about the capabilities and design features of the PP-2000.

Some additions and information

The submachine gun PP-2000 lends itself perfectly to hidden wearing. Density of fire exceeds almost all known weapons in this class. When creating it, the minimum number of parts and assemblies was used, for the case - high-strength plastic. The unmasking effect is reduced - there is a slotted flame arrester in the design. For aiming, a standard front sight and a throw pillar are used. If necessary, the PP-2000 can be understaffed with a collimator sight or sight for use in the dark. A bullet fired from such a submachine gun, encountering an obstacle in its path, will not ricochet. This allows it to be used not only on city streets, but also indoors.

Is there a submachine gun PP-2000 "Vityaz"?

In the media quite often articles appear that new weapons are coming into the arsenal of the army and other state military units. And then there was a message that the Vityaz PP-2000 will be issued to the police and special forces. I must say that this is complete stupidity - these are two different types of weapons.

pp 2000 short description

It is worth at least to pay attention to the fact that the Tula gunsmiths created the PP-2000. "Vityaz" is the brainchild of "Izhmash", a modification of the submachine gun PP-19-01. This model even externally differs from the PP-2000 - the photo is quite convincing evidence of this. Not to mention the fact that they have slightly different technical specifications. In addition, the “Knight” was not created from scratch. The basis was taken on such models of machine guns as AKS-74U, AK-105. Even the magazine with cartridges is similar in appearance. And the materials for the manufacture of PP-2000 and Vityaz are also different.

Thus, the lack of professionalism of both the representatives of the media and some employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs leads to real disinformation. The townsfolk don’t care, but the professionals will be more likely just ridiculous.
