The Royce-Royce limousine from the English manufacturer of luxury cars based at the Goodwood plant in West Sussex (England) has firmly won the hearts of motorists around the world. This article provides a description and characteristics of this vehicle.
Manufacturing plant
The factory where the Rolls-Royce limousine is being created is located opposite the historic Goodwood Route. The car brand is a subsidiary of German BMW and the current manufacturer of Rolls-Royce cars. The history of the automobile brand dates back to 1904 from Rolls-Royce Limited and Motors.
A bit of history
In 1904, Henry Royce launched his first car, and Charles Rolls sold it. In 1906, they joined Roll-Royce, and their Silver Ghost became the best car of the year.
These two manufacturers quickly achieved success, and after the launch of the Silver Ghost model since 1906, their reputation has grown significantly. The production of luxury cars was finally settled after the acquisition of a rival Bentley in 1931.
Silver Ghost
Queen Margaretβs most beautiful car is the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, which was released in 1958. He is still the model of choice for formal occasions. The car is commonly known as the Stor Krone, named after its license plate with one large crown.
In 1973, the automobile division was transformed from the parent company and named Rolls-Royce Motors.
For their 100th anniversary, the concept car was named 100EX, and the next year, the 101EX concept appeared at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show.

Design
The Silver Spirit case has been completely redesigned. Fritz Feller developed a structure that was flatter and wider than the Silver Shadow. Horizontal lines prevailed in the car: the front part had side double headlights, which (with the exception of the version intended for the American market) were hidden behind a wide lens.
The headlamp unit also contained turn signals and side lights and protruded from the side into the wings. The grill has received new dimensions: it was 2.5 cm lower and 9 cm wider than the Silver Shadow.
The rear end was designed horizontally with a wide, partially integrated in the trunk, rear light. The glass surface was increased by 30 percent compared to its predecessor.
A feature of the "Silver Spirit" was the location of the radiator. It was a reaction to more stringent safety requirements when tilting more than 30 degrees and when applying external pressure.
Technology
The Rolls-Royce limousine description confirms that the drive was an eight-cylinder V-engine with a capacity of 6.750 cubic meters. cm, cylinder block and cylinder heads made of light metal. It had non-contact electronic ignition and was originally equipped with two SU carburetors.
Over the years, the engine has changed several times.
- In 1986, the carburetor system was replaced by the Bosch-K-Jetronic.
- Since 1989, MK-Motronic has been used.
- Later, the car was also available with a Garrett exhaust turbocharger.
- In the early 1970s, Rolls-Royce developed a 7.2-liter enlarged version of the engine.
The Rolls-Royce limousine is a car that was awarded the attention of the first persons of the state. This fact says a lot.
