Tooth cyst treatment

Excellent health for most people is the key to a happy life. To preserve it, specialists in different fields advise their patients to eat right, go in for sports and periodically undergo preventive examinations, especially if there is the slightest possibility of manifestation of diseases. Nevertheless, insidious ailments still overtake people, and, as a rule, quite unexpectedly.

One of the most unpleasant diseases in the field of dentistry is a tooth cyst, the symptoms of which appear mainly when it is already in neglected form. Of course, like many other diseases, the treatment of a tooth cyst depends on the degree of its development, that is, the sooner the doctor detects it, the easier it will be to get rid of it later. Quite often, a cyst is detected by chance and is visible only on radiographs. That is why experts strongly recommend that you check for dysfunctional teeth at least every six months.

Some time ago, treatment of a tooth cyst was reduced to rather unpleasant procedures for complete tooth extraction. Today, such radical methods, fortunately, are left behind. Now treatment of tooth cysts can be carried out both surgically and more gentle therapeutic. Of course, the choice of any of these methods is purely individual for each patient. Both of them have both attractive and negative sides, but the biggest plus is that in most cases it is possible to save the tooth.

As a rule, the treatment of a tooth cyst with the help of a surgical intervention takes the form of an operation in which the cyst itself is removed, as well as the damaged upper part of the tooth root. The popularity of this operation is explained by its absolute reliability, but at the same time it is quite complicated, and finding a specialist who is able to correctly and without negative consequences to carry out all the manipulations is also not easy. There is also another type of surgical treatment - hemisection. In this case, the dental surgeon, in addition to the cyst itself, completely removes the damaged root, capturing the part of the tooth above it. Further, crowns are formed on the flaws formed after removal. Undoubtedly, situations sometimes occur when a tooth is almost completely destroyed or staggers strongly while in the cavity of the cyst. Under such conditions, it is impossible to save the tooth and, as a rule, it is removed.

Treatment of tooth cysts in a therapeutic way allows you to do without any operations, delivering much less negative emotions to the patient. A big disadvantage of this treatment is its long duration in the absence of one hundred percent guarantees. A similar treatment method is to drill the affected tooth and thoroughly clean and disinfect the canal. For this, various disinfectants are usually used, which are able to rid microbes and bacteria present in the cyst cavity. Only after the completion of the first stage can you proceed to the next. It consists in the fact that the dentist fills the space formed after drilling with a special paste-like substance, which affects the rapid renewal and growth of bone tissue. After filling, the tooth is filled and after six months the presence of a cyst is checked using x-rays. If it is absent, then we can talk about successful treatment, but, as a rule, this happens only in 70% of patients. In some clinics, patients may be offered several sessions of diphoresis, in which copper-calcium hydroxide is used, which is able to get rid of bacteria and damaged cells under the influence of an electric current. A similar option is the treatment of a tooth cyst with a laser, in which the cyst evaporates and the root is disinfected. Thus, the cause of the disease is eliminated.
