Kamburova Elena Antonovna is a talented Soviet and Russian singer, winner of state awards, holder of the title of People’s Artist of Russia, founder and artistic director of the Theater of Music and Poetry in Moscow. Her voice is known to Russians in cinema and cartoons, which the singer had the chance to voice. Today, there are about fifty records and more than twenty CDs on which the best songs of Elena Kamburova are recorded.

Origin

The singer’s pedigree comes from the Greeks of Azov, who lived in Crimea from the middle of the eighteenth century. Her ancestors were teachers, clerks, doctors, and spiritual servants. Some of them were subjected to repression and persecution. Parents of Elena Kamburova met in Novokuznetsk (then Stalin). In July 1940, they had a daughter. The singer’s father was an engineer, his mother a doctor. The Kamburova family was very friendly and musical. In the evenings, little Elena listened to songs performed by her mother and grandmother to the accompaniment of her father, who owned a good guitar.

Path selection

In childhood, the singer did not even think about a musical career. The girl was more interested in dramatic art and poetry. Being unsure of her talent, after graduation, the girl became a student at the Institute of Light Industry in Kiev. Two years later, the future singer tried to enter the Shchukin Theater School. Having failed the third round, Elena decided to stay in Moscow. After working for a year at a construction site, the singer entered the pop department of the State Circus School. From that moment, the biography of Elena Kamburova made an unexpected turn. Sergei Kashtelyan, who taught at the school, discerned musical talent in the student. He invited Elena to perform the song of Novella Matveyeva "What a great wind." So the first performance of the singer took place, which did not leave the audience indifferent.

Sixties

The first talented songwriters that Elena Kamburova was lucky to work with were Novella Nikolaevna Matveeva and Bulat Shalvovich Okudzhava. Their poetry possessed the piercing that was not enough for the performers of the sixties. Therefore, the singer began to stand out sharply in the musical environment of that time. 1970 was marked by the release of the film-concert of Elena Kamburova: "Monologue". The same year gave the singer the first solo disc. In the early nineties, Kamburova decided to create her own theater, in which she could act as an artistic director and performer of roles. She succeeded, and in 1992 the first premiere of the Theater of Music and Poetry: the play "Game of Dreams." The theater is still popular. Performances based on the works of world classics are staged in it: Tchaikovsky, Bach, Schubert, Vivaldi, Schumann, Haydn. Folklore and contemporary music does not go unnoticed. Elena Antonovna believes that the song is Art with a capital letter. She tries to convey this idea to the viewer from the stage of her theater. Talented musicians are involved on the stage of the theater and perform such performances as:

Personal life

Despite her creative openness, Elena Antonovna is not ready to share her secret. She prefers not to comment on her personal life. It is known that the singer met her first husband while studying at the circus school. It was a pianist and composer Kirill Akimov. It was he who introduced Elena to Bulat Okudzhava. For this acquaintance, the singer is grateful to her first husband to this day. The marriage lasted six years and ended in divorce. About the reasons the couple chose not to spread.

The second time the singer married her colleague Alexei Voznesensky. He participated in writing songs Kamburova, was her accompanist. The singer admits that she felt the support of Alexei until the last days of his life. Children in both marriages did not appear.
