How to choose a new one and where to sell an old car battery in Moscow

It is unnecessary to tell motorists and amateurs about how important it is to prepare your β€œpet” for frost. And here, special attention should be paid to the car battery. So...

But if you are not an experienced driver and can not do everything right the first time, do not be discouraged, because there are buying used car batteries in Moscow and you can easily compensate for a significant portion of the cost of the battery.
Battery selection.

The modern market is full of offers, so it is worth considering several defining characteristics of the battery.

Volume. Do not skimp on taking a battery with great accumulative abilities, however, keep in mind the reliability and manufacturer's warranty. You should also know the required power to the battery of your car in Amp-hour.

Climate markings, red or blue, respectively suitable for hot and cold climates.

Actual dimensions of the battery, its shape, location of the terminals.

It is also important to consider that a fully charged battery cannot be stored in the cold, otherwise the density of the electrolyte inside it will decrease, and this will lead to its complete unsuitability.

Charge the battery with the charger.

First of all, remember to charge only a fully discharged battery. Previously, it must be removed and at least an hour is in a warm room.

Using a screwdriver, unscrew the plugs that block the battery and connect the terminals to the corresponding contacts of the charger, be sure to connect first positive, then negative (the same thing at the end of the process).

Set the charger correctly, the current supply should not exceed 10% of the battery capacity.

If the voltage and density of the electrolyte are stable for several hours, then the battery is fully charged.

Full nights of charge, but after a day of downtime - do not start?

Check the electrolyte density in the battery. For this you will need a special device - an acid meter. Checking is carried out only after at least six hours after removal from charging.

We unscrew all the plugs from the battery and place the acid meter in the cells, collecting the electrolyte using the pipette method. For the battery to work properly in appropriate climatic conditions, it is necessary that the indicator be no less than ~ 1.25 kg / l, while the readings of other cells should differ in the range of ~ 0.03 kg / l. If the battery readings are lower, it should be changed.

Place only β€œnative” plugs on the cells and monitor the state of the gaskets in them.

Perhaps this is exactly what you should know before the onset of a particularly capricious period of winter temperatures.
