Modern presentations are accompanied by a multimedia tool, a vivid and lively speaker performance, and the use of interactivity elements will make your presentation successful. This is the whole art of sales, where it is mainly necessary to logically convince the audience that the investor will receive a competitive project based on quality calculations and analysis. You yourself probably witnessed monotonous presentations, where many speakers "stupidly" reread endless texts and tables with their backs to the audience, where there are more than 20 slides with small yellow text on a bright green background. That is why this article summarizes my personal experience in presenting projects, studied additional literature, below I will present golden rules and recommendations that will help you succeed, thanks to a high-quality and successful presentation.
The first one. All attention to the speaker and visibility. The presentation of the project is not a document at all, so we do it only in Power Point, and not in Word, for solid text you can use the handout. Remember, what you wrote on the slides, your guests can read on their own, talk loudly, lively and in your own words. If you are making a presentation of a new product, then show it and let it touch. If you are presenting a company anthem, then organize and sing it all together. Show high-quality photos if this is a presentation of a new machine.
The second one. Magic numbers. Be sure to follow the principle of "10-20-30", which means:
- no more than 10 slides (10 ideas, 10 thoughts, 10 important messages, write 1 idea per slide);
- no more than 20 minutes for your performance;
- 30th font of writing text on a slide.
The only nuance recommended by Steve Jobs (APPLE) is the 10 minutes rule so that your listeners do not get tired, you need to take a break every 10 minutes to demonstrate the product, change the speaker, in the end, you need to tell a joke.
The third. It is not necessary to provide data, we need information and ready-made solutions. What do you think is the difference between data and information? Data is bare numbers, tables and texts. And information is processed data, comparative charts, analytics and specific offers. Presentation of the project - this is news, sensation, a proposal that is not included in these categories, fill out in handouts.
Fourth. Golden rule of information visualization. Before filling out your slides, you must adhere to strict rules that will allow you to successfully and clearly present information, read the following recommendations:
- Scheme - the chart on the slide is the most successful visualization. The possibilities of the new versions of Power Point are endless: a huge number of different variations and designs.
- Drawings - should be high-quality, clear and strictly on the topic. We use them only if we could not make the circuit.
- We use graphics only if we could not pick up the drawings for the presentation.
- "Naked" text only if you could not do it, draw a competent schedule.
Fifth. The slide should not have more than five elements, such a pattern was discovered by American scientists. Human
short-term memory can simultaneously store no more than 5-7 elements, the slide should not have any "mess", if there is much more information - group, shorten to the most important and key.
