DJ Dley: biography, photo

A native of the city of Velizh, Smolensk region was born on March 2, 1975. Real name is Alexey Tagantsev. The future DJ spent his early childhood in this small town, then, however, he moved to Moscow. After the move, the capital became a native musician. Therefore, in some articles you can read erroneous information that the musician is from Moscow.

Education and passion for music

The future musician studied at a school with a focus on learning English. As a schoolboy, he began to get involved in music, and then discovered his favorite genre - rap.

Largely due to knowledge of the language, he could understand the meaning of foreign songs. And listening to cool tracks with an understanding of what they say is doubly nice. Gradually, this hobby leads to the fact that the DJ specially translated the lyrics of English songs into Russian. He was able to drag his classmates into this business. The children looked for the translation of words in dictionaries, and also asked the meaning of the words from teachers.

Club life

After graduation, the guy is addicted to club life, he spends a lot of time at night parties.

Visiting Moscow nightclubs, Dli did not understand why the music in the institutions is of such poor quality, one might say, base. Then Dli begins to create his own compositions. He wanted to show with his work that a much better product could be made. Also, he did not like the selection of playlists and DJ techniques. Therefore, he soon began to engage in DJing.

DJ performances

The debut performance of the DJ in the capital's clubs took place in 1996. To start a career, you needed to come up with a nickname. The young man began to call himself DJ Dley, meaning the word "long" under that name. Such a nickname may have been chosen due to the guy’s growth.

DJ Dley was well aware that the mood of people in the club will depend on his skills and music selection, so he always tried to give the audience only the best quality.

He perfectly understood the tastes of club visitors, as he had long been in this environment. The purpose of his speeches was to satisfy as many people as possible, so that, having come to the party, each person received what he wants.

Dli had his own vision of any party he attended. When he came to the club, he carefully watched the music there, wondered in his head what could be correctly combined with, and most importantly, in what order to play it all so that people would enjoy it as much as possible, they wanted to return again.

Musical preferences

For a long time, Dli could not decide on the style in which he wants to play, so I tried many different options. Ultimately, Dley realizes that without bass and beat, he simply cannot live.

For DJ Dley, the favorite were the rhythm and blues and hip-hop genres, so he mostly played them. However, he did not like to distinguish between rap and new and old school. He was of the opinion that this is just music that people like.

The beginning of the way

At the beginning of the 00s, Dli began close cooperation with the Yu.G. collective. He wrote music for children, came up with arrangements, and also helped them improve the sound of songs at the stage of processing. The result of the collaboration was the team’s live album, entitled “This Is Only the Beginning”.

Considering that he had gained enough experience, Dli begins to engage in solo projects. In 2003, DJ Dley was awarded the Funky Street Award, he is awarded the title of Best Artist of the Year. After that, he receives a proposal for a contract with the label "Union", which he accepts.

Next, Dley goes to the London festival of DJ art as a participant. There he shows all his professionalism and twists the “turntables” almost a day in a popular place called Ministry of Sound. Dli then tried his best, as a result received the title of world champion in the category of rhythm and blues.

This event added popularity and authority to the Russian DJ. He was invited to perform at the best clubs in Russia and Europe.

It is also worth noting that in those days the rhythm and blues was not as popular in Europe and Russia as it is now. Therefore, many DJ fans consider him the pioneer of this genre in the world of DJing. It was not for nothing that he performed in precisely this style, he felt that soon the rhythm and blues would receive recognition from the audience and the genre would begin to develop.

The first experience of working with a musical group for a DJ was the Brothers Cash team.

Sound producer

DJ Dley received the greatest popularity as a music producer. He found novice singers, rappers and musicians, helped them in creating music and its processing, developing and promoting his work. So, thanks to his production activities, Russian music lovers first heard about the rapper Timati, as well as the VIP77 and Banda bands.

For a long time fruitfully collaborated with Timati. Thanks to this collaboration, the rapper's debut album, Black Star, was born. Few people know, but most of the tracks on the album were created by Dli. Also, with his initiative, the track “In the Club” was recorded and released, which subsequently became a hit and glorified both throughout Russia.

Realizing that there is still room for growth in Dli's production activities, he continues to move in this direction. The next artist to collaborate, he selects Legalize. Together, from beginning to end, they record the rapper's official album, entitled “LIGA MIX”.

Unfortunately, Dly was not able to get feedback on the work done with Legalize. The album was released only in 2009, when Dli was no longer in this world.

Crash

Many fans, noticing the disappearance of a talented musician, are wondering what happened to DJ Dley. The following story will clarify the picture a bit.

After a productive day at work, Dly went to his country house closer to night to rest. However, an accident occurs on the 37th kilometer of the Mozhayskoye Shosse. A Mercedes flew towards him at a frantic speed, whose driver, for some unknown reason, taxied into the oncoming lane. The accident in which DJ Dley crashed happened, which is called "head-on." The doctors who arrived at the scene could no longer do anything. So on July 12, 2009, a talented musician at the age of 34 died.

Mark on history

Despite the early departure from life, Dli left behind several songs, which he entered his name on the list of the most talented Russian DJs and musicians. In addition to producing activities, the musician was engaged in solo work. DJ Dley's songs are still popular in narrow circles to this day. Here is a list of his solo albums:
