World- famous Desert Eagle pistols began their existence in the 70s. A small group of people in one of the cities of America organized their own small company, Magnum Research. The main goal of enthusiasts was the development of sports and hunting automatic weapons. At that time, the basic ammunition was a powerful cartridge, the energy of which exceeded the nine-millimeter parabellum several times.
A decade later, the company received its first patent, which was based on an automatic movement. After another year of work, the first Desert Eagle pistols, called the Eagle 357, were released. The weapon had many shortcomings, so the prototype was given for revision and improvement of one of the Israeli arms companies. Enthusiasts themselves were not able to independently modify the device.
Two years later, the Desert Eagle pistols appeared on public display, and after a while the weapons began to be mass-produced. Powerful and rather heavy models very quickly hit the shelves of weapons stores.
The Desert Eagle pistols acquired their modern name in 1985. At that time, the base sample had small changes; in addition, the developers equipped it with a special barrel with polygonal rifling. Literally a year later, a new version was released, which had a more powerful cartridge. This was the first pistol developed on the basis of a self-loading device for a cartridge, intended for a revolver.
Towards the end of 1989, a new modification of the Desert Eagle, Mark 5, was introduced. The main difference from the rest of the samples was a modified trigger mechanism and an increased fuse lever. In addition, the developers eliminated the constant delay in shutter operation.
The first modern modification of the "Desert Eagle" appeared only in 1996. It was an improved pistol equipped with a more powerful cartridge and a reinforced frame of the entire structure. All models of this type were produced only for fiftieth caliber bullets, this allowed gun owners to independently replace damaged trunks or purchase additional stores.
All samples initially specialized as weapons for hunting a large beast or for training shooting. For fans of sports weapons over time, the Desert Eagle air gun was created, which had good technical characteristics and had the necessary power.
Unique in its own way and world famous "Desert Eagle" was used as a weapon only among the civilian population, there is no documentary evidence that the gun was in the arsenal of America or other countries. But the big and frightening gun was remembered in many modern action films, and this was the main advertisement for the famous model of Magnum Research.
