Female martial arts in the minds of many fans are still something exotic and frivolous. However, today's female fighters prove to everyone that they are capable of surrendering to their beloved business just as seriously as their male counterparts. One of the most striking and effective athletes in the world of martial arts is Ekaterina Kovaleva, a fighter in spirit and in the ring. The two-meter beauty impresses men with its irresistible appearance, and rivals in the ring with high-kicks of incredible strength.
With big brother gloves
Kovaleva Ekaterina, whose biography could have developed in a different way, was born in the Belarusian Mogilev in an ordinary family. Like most ordinary parents, Katya's dad and mom imagined their daughter, who was hit in the ring, with horror.
However, Kovaleva was an energetic and restless girl, constantly getting involved in fights with boys. It was necessary to direct the flow of aggression in the right direction, and Katya was sent to the acrobatics section.
Such a peaceful sport was boring for an indomitable girl, she often borrowed her brother's boxing gloves and independently practiced blows.
Finally, her parents reconciled with Katya’s insistence and took her to the karate section, where her first mentor was the authoritative coach Vladimir Tarasenko, whom Katerina Katerina still recalls with great warmth.
She was not limited to the narrow framework of karate and in parallel studied kickboxing, Muay Thai, taekwondo.
From Belarus to Bahrain
A tall, well-built girl fell victim to the power of her blows. In 2011, after a powerful kick, she felt severe pain in her lower leg. After the injury Kovaleva Catherine even decided for some time to engage in professional sports in order to recover and recover.
Just at that moment, an offer was received from friends to work as a trainer in a large fitness center in Bahrain. The girl packed up and went to the sunny emirate.
In a short time, Kovaleva Ekaterina earned a reputation as a strict and demanding instructor. Her cousins even began to attend the cousins of the ruler of the country.
Local experts were too sensitive to monarchs and were afraid to be strict and demand discipline. However, the independent Belarusian woman was not afraid of anyone and from the very beginning announced that there was only one overlord in the hall - the coach.
Credibility, a good source of income - all this was achieved by Ekaterina Kovaleva, but the boring life of a fitness instructor did not suit a fighting girl. Having recovered from the injury, she began to glance in the direction of the ring, waiting for offers.
Champion
Ekaterina Kovaleva, kickboxing for which was not a curiosity, returned to the big sport almost by accident. In 2015, the Belarusian team went to the World Cup in Serbia, but there was a shortage in the heaviest weight category, and a vacant ticket was offered to a brunette who was bored with boredom in hot Bahrain. The girl even agreed to pay a ticket to Belgrade and back from her pocket.
Preparation for the competition took a few days, Catherine had to lose 7 kg extra weight, but she came to the start of the tournament in full combat readiness.
Kovaleva Ekaterina, missed the present case, struggled with all her heart, putting incredible power in her blows. Particularly spectacular were her crown hi-kicks - kicks to the head. Without any problems, she reached the semifinals, where new challenges awaited her. One of her blows fell in defense of the rival, and Kovaleva Ekaterina exacerbated her old injury. Doctors of the team persuaded her to withdraw from the competition, but the unyielding girl at painkillers injections went to a decisive battle.
Her rival was an experienced Natalya Yurchenko from Russia, but that evening Kovaleva was unstoppable and, in a bitter struggle, still took the league title.
The Conquest of the States
Catherine decided not to confine herself to performing in kickboxing and also decided to participate in the Muay Thai World Championship held in Sweden. However, there were no rivals in her weight category, the Belarusian athlete was the only one who entered the category of over 75 kg.
Frustrated, Catherine went to unwind in the United States, where she received a proposal for cooperation with local mixed martial arts clubs. Kovaleva is currently conducting an active search for worthy rivals for fighting in MMA. In order not to waste time in vain, she also applied for participation in WWE - the American wrestling league.
The tall, spectacular girl impressed the organizers and was selected among 30 candidates to participate in the show.
In addition, Kovaleva holds training fights with male fighters, including such well-known personalities as Mat Mitrion and other MMA stars.
