The director and screenwriter Eduard Parry inherited this unusual surname from his grandfather, whose place of residence was near Finland. In 1939 he was sent to Siberia, then his grandfather settled in Buryatia, in Tyumen and finally in the city of Urai, Tyumen region.
Edward Parry: biography
Eduard was born in 1973 in the small town of Myski, Kemerovo region. The mother of the future director was only sixteen years old, and his father was seventeen. Despite their youth, parents gave their son a good upbringing and education.
To the delight of his parents, Edward Parry entered the institute for (as he himself said in an interview) an unpronounceable specialty. What he was supposed to become in the end is unknown, but it is known that the young man, unable to withstand internal resistance, got up and left once from a lecture and never returned to college.
He reassured his parents by saying that he would go to Moscow to study as a stuntman, although he had no idea where such training was conducted. Well prepared physically, in Moscow, a young man entered the Institute of Physical Education and was engaged in martial arts for a long time. Making progress in this direction, Edward Parry was sent to Austria.
Continuing training in a foreign land and despite the achievements, Edward felt lonely. Once acutely feeling loneliness, although Vienna was beautiful and well-groomed, he decided to leave everything and return to his homeland in order to “kiss his native land”. Eduard Parry returned home with one suitcase and a desire to start a new life.
Director's career
He did not think about the career of a film director, especially since he soon married, and his wife bore him two sons. A new life began for Edward, where he put the family at the forefront. The main concern of the young father of the family was to provide for the family. He took up the automobile business, which brought in income, and it seemed that everything was going well, but the internal artist did not give him rest. Edward Parry lived with the feeling that he was missing something.
Finally, he realized that he was eating. And again, the case (for the third time) turned the life of Edward. Arriving once on the set where his friend called, Parry realized that if he didn’t take a decisive step and didn’t break with a business that meant nothing to him, the dream of making a movie would remain unrealizable.
As it turned out, cinema and theater were not alien to the film director and screenwriter. Possessing artistry, he was still engaged in folk theater in Buryatia, then they staged puppet shows, and then he got the role in the production of “Dog Ball”.
The children were even paid a symbolic salary, but Edward Parry did not participate in the folk theater for a fee. At that time, Indian films were imported into their town, which were impossible to get into, and the theater gave children the opportunity to freely watch.
Apprentice Emil Loteanu
The first thing Eduard Parry, who was already over 25 years old, submitted documents to VGIK, but there his documents were not even accepted. However, the goal stood before his eyes, and he went to the Higher Director's Courses, where he was again stunned, saying that after two hours they closed the set.
Fortunately, they let me in for an interview, and there he managed to charm the admissions committee. As it turned out, the members of the commission were Emil Lotyanu, Svetlana Surikova, Vladimir Naumov, whose names were known throughout the USSR.
Surikova in a conversation asked him about the children, and Eduard Parry in the colors told how he brings up sons. It was very funny, and he was accepted.
Emil Loteanu was gaining a course and became his mentor in directing. The students adored the master, Lotyan taught Edward to love actors: in the movies, he said, the main thing is the actor, the way he plays the character. The task of the director is to “tear” pieces of real life from the actor. Emil Vladimirovich said that the director’s duty requires some rigidity, the ability to defend his position in order not to betray the plan. Idea and inspiration is what directing is based on.
The master died early, but his beloved students are still on the birthday and death day of Emil Lotyanu necessarily gather together and remember him. Another teacher was Andrei Dobrovolsky, who taught E. Parry the craft of the profession.

The first short film "Two" immediately received one of the main prizes at the "Kinotavr", and the film "The Yellow Dragon" became the full-length film shot by Edward.
It was a comedy, the script was constantly rewritten during the filming, and as a result, the film fell in love with the audience. Then other suggestions followed. Currently, the director has shot several films:
- "Two".
