The motion picture tells about the fate of Annie and Chris, who met during the holidays and fell in love with each other with all their hearts. They are one of those couples who were able to maintain and carry their feelings through distance and time. This is a story about where the dreams of lovers lead. Nielson is a happy family in which son and daughter grow up, Annie is a great artist, Chris is a children's doctor. Their house is filled with laughter and happiness. However, all this collapses in one short moment. On the way to school, both children die in a terrible car accident. Having lost her children, Annie becomes depressed, the world ceased to exist for her, the colors faded, the dream house she painted turned gray and gloomy, filled with pain and sorrow. Chris gives himself to work and attempts to return his beloved spouse, to fill her life with new meaning. Thanks to tremendous efforts, he succeeds. Years pass, the life of the couple begins to improve. But fate is cruel. Annie again remains alone in a world full of despair and emptiness - saving Chris, Chris dies. He does not immediately understand what happened, and tries again and again to attract the attention of his wife, but having realized, he abandons the attempt and leaves for the other world. Where can a bright and kind soul go, which, sacrificing itself, helps others? Of course to heaven! Chris's Paradise is filled with the brightest, vibrant colors. In it is the dream house that Annie once painted, in it are beloved children, in it is a riot of happiness and even a dog that they once loved so much. He meets a friend, Dr. Albert, who becomes his guide, introduces him to others. Thanks to him, Nelson learns the essence of paradise - everyone suits him exactly as he would like, surrounding him with his dreams, what he loves and always wants to see next to him.
At the same time, in the reality that Chris so suddenly left, his beloved Annie suffers from loneliness and depression. Unable to withstand the inner torment, she commits suicide and goes to hell. Chris learns about what happened from Dr. Albert and decides to go to the world of pain, despair, fear and darkness in order to return his beloved. In a short time, he should not only have time to get his spouse out of despondency, but himself not to fall into his fetters. Annie's condition is so difficult that she does not immediately recognize her husband. But the great
power of love that lives in the heart of Nelson, at the very last moment, will be able to awaken, tear out from despair a desperate soul and bring it to a world where a daughter and a son, a world built by their dreams, are waiting with excitement. Time passes and the lovers decide to start all over again. The film ends with the scene of the acquaintance of a little boy and girl, some details surprisingly reminiscent of the meeting of Chris and Annie many, many years ago.

Reviews of film critics were divided, but film enthusiasts almost unanimously put the highest ratings not only to the plot and skill of the actors. The special effects that were used in the movie “Where Dreams Come” are so magnificent that they are breathtaking.
