Hockey biography
Ilya Davydov was born in Yaroslavl in 1989. In his hometown, he took the first steps in domestic hockey. At first I tried myself in different positions, as a result I settled on the role of the defender.
In his youth, he played in the First Hockey League of the Russian Championship for a double of the Yaroslavl “Locomotive”. However, he failed to prove himself enough to appear in the main team of his native city. I had to look for other clubs.
In professional hockey, Ilya Davydov made his debut in 2007, when he was 18 years old. His first team was South Ural from Orsk. At that time he played in the Major League. In his first season, the guy was often used in defensive positions. He played 19 matches, but did not earn a single point.
Izhevsk period
In the 2010/2011 season, Ilya Davydov became a member of the Izhstal team from Izhevsk. She made her debut in the newly formed Major Hockey League. Izhevtsy played in the Eastern Conference very unsuccessfully. Davydov could do little to help his new club, despite the fact that he regularly appeared on the site.
During the season he played 54 matches, in which he earned 6 points. He scored his first goal in professional adult hockey, and also gave 5 assists.
At the same time, Izhstal won only 24 victories in 56 games. At the end of the season, he took last place.
KHL debut
At the beginning of the 2011 season, a promising player Ilya Davydov signed a new contract. The hockey player began to play for Yekaterinburg Avtomobilist, who played in the newly formed Continental Hockey League.
That season, the Urals unsuccessfully performed in the Eastern Conference. Only 16 wins in 54 games. And again, the hero team of our article is the last in its division. At the same time, Davydov practically did not show himself. He appeared on the site 19 times, did not earn any points on the “goal + pass” system, and showed himself poorly in defense.
As a result, already at the beginning of 2012 he was put up for draft rejection. Davydov became interested only in the club of the Higher Hockey League "Sputnik" from Nizhny Tagil. So the athlete left the elite division of the domestic hockey championship. However, for “Sputnik” that season, for a number of objective and subjective reasons, did not play a single match.
The next year, Ilya Davydov, whose photo was already starting to appear on the pages of domestic sports newspapers, received an offer to sign a contract with the club of the Continental Hockey League Torpedo from Nizhny Novgorod. But here on the site he was an infrequent guest. After 10 matches for the “Torpedo” and giving one assists, he again was among the “refuseniks”.
As in the previous season, Davydova took the club of the Higher Hockey League from the city of Sarov. Davydov's team took 15th place in the regular season, getting a place in the playoffs. True, already at the stage of the 1/8 finals, “Sarov” lost to Tyumen “Rubin” in five matches. Davydov spent 17 matches on the site, in which he scored 4 goals and gave one assist.
The next year he stayed in the same club. The team this time performed less successfully. Having taken only 20 positions, she was overboard the elimination games. Davydov played in the first team. He spent 35 matches in which he gave 4 assists.
In 2014, Davydov moved to the Vladivostok Admiral, a team of the Continental Hockey League. In the 2014/2015 season, he played only 9 matches in which he scored one goal. At the same time, his team became the 9th in the Eastern Conference. To get into the playoffs, she did not have one point.
During the season, “Admiral” broke up with Davydov. Chelyabinsk Tractor became interested in his services. Until the end of the game year, the young man spent 32 matches in the new team. He scored one goal and gave one assist.
Together with the team he took 7th place in the Eastern Conference, having achieved the right to play in the playoffs. In the 1/4 finals of the conference, Tractor lost to Novosibirsk Siberia 2-4.
After that, Davydov performed in Podolsk “Vityaz”, “Tver Hockey Club” and Novokuznetsk “Metallurg”.
Careers in Slovakia
Currently, Davydov moved to the Slovak championship. He plays in the team "Poprad" from a small town of the same name with a population of about 55 thousand people.
The team performs in the Slovak extra-league. Last season, took 6th place in the regular season.

Davydov is often confused with his equally famous namesake, a well-known blogger. The hockey player Ilya Davydov often suffers from this.
