an enema correctly

Very often an enema is given when it is urgent to clean the lower parts of the rectum, and there is no way to wait for the action of laxatives.

- rubber bottle with a tip (Esmarch's mug);
- a basin or other container with a wide bottom;
- dense plastic film;
- couch (sofa, bed, etc.).

How to make an enema right at home
Currently, there are many different solutions with which the lower parts of the rectum are cleaned. As they use ordinary warm water, and decoctions of medicinal herbs, and vegetable oils, and salts, and diluted freshly squeezed juices and so on. Depending on the purpose of such manipulations, the most suitable fluid should be selected.
To clean the intestines by washing them with water or a solution should be in the early morning (at 5-8 hours) or in the evening (at 21-23 hours). This time is ideal for such manipulations. It should be noted that the position with the introduction of fluid into the rectum may be different. A person is allowed to squat, lie on his back, on his left or right side (while pressing his knees to his stomach), and also to kneel, leaning on his elbows.
Before you make an enema for a child or an adult, you should definitely buy an Esmarch mug at the pharmacy. It must be filled with cleaning fluid, closed and hung high. After this, the tip is recommended to be generously lubricated with petroleum jelly, vegetable oil or a nourishing cream. It is required to completely bleed air from the tube. Having achieved water leakage, it is necessary to shut off the tap. Next, the tip should be carefully inserted into the anus, and then remove the clip. During this procedure, from 1.5 to 2 liters of fluid should flow into the rectum.
It should be especially noted that these manipulations can be carried out not only with the help of Esmarch’s mug, but also using an ordinary pear. Before you properly make an enema with a syringe, you need to carry out all the same actions that were described above. As a rule, a rubber bulb is used to cleanse the lower intestines in young children.
After the procedure is completed, the patient must lie in the same position for 5 to 10 minutes. During this time, feces will become soft, and their output will be much easier.
