At the same time, if you look at the history from the side of an individual person, you can notice his desire to unite with others like himself.
Why do people come together in groups? Social studies, which we study back in school, give fairly accurate, but incomplete answers, and therefore we will examine in more detail.
Human history
Before answering the question “What does a group give to a person, society - to the world, and the state - to groups?”, Let’s take a look at the history of our civilization. Imagine a time when there were no states and a traditional society based on customs and distribution of roles. But even then, people realized that they alone could not survive in this world - he was too dangerous, and it turned out to be very useful to join a group. In addition, people have always sought to create a family - this is a biological need.

Now in more detail we will consider each of the steps of the pyramid. First, take the biological needs of a person. It was them that Maslow called the most important, because in their absence our life is either impossible or extremely painful. This is the primary reason why people come together in a group.
In general, the following needs are highlighted in the pyramid:
- breath;
- food;
- drink;
- sleep;
- maintaining temperature;
- bowel movement;
- sex drive.
Indeed, without breathing or water, a person will not live long, which means that these are the elements of life that are necessary for everyone, regardless of physical data, personality status, or even his financial situation in the future. Nowadays, both rich and poor need water. But what is the use of unification? Why do people come together in groups, what does a group give to a person?
Society, like any association of people, is created to meet these needs. Let us return to primitive time, where a person constantly felt himself in danger. In order to eat, he needed to hunt, and to do this is much easier with someone together. After all, wild animals could be much faster, larger and stronger than humans.
Ensuring a safe sleep and maintaining a temperature is much easier in the circle of your clan or group, which monitors your safety and will not let you freeze.
Security
Having fulfilled our biological needs, we will think about the safety of both our and our loved ones - family and friends. In addition, people always worried about the security of their resources, including money.
That is, the second reason why people are united in a group is to achieve a level of security at which we can safely plan or act freely. You must admit that it is difficult to work if your life can end at any moment. If you are sure that nothing is threatening you, then you will act much more efficiently. It’s much easier if someone else is watching the protection. For example, nowadays the police are engaged in this. In ancient times, people from the same clan defended each other against danger.
Involvement
Loneliness is man’s worst enemy, even if he is an introvert. Without building a family, friendship and love, we are unlikely to be happy with our life. And here the presence of a group is incredibly important for a person, because it is in it that the search for a partner or comrade will definitely give the desired result.
Respect
Another reason why people are united in a group is the desire to be respected. Everyone wants to trust someone, and also to trust them. To someone proud of them and show respect. But the achievement of this need is almost impossible outside of society, groups. Many years ago, for example, all members of the clan respected their leader or the best hunters.
Self-realization
The last step in the Maslow pyramid is self-realization. It is not given to everyone, but many would like to realize themselves in this life. The only question is whether it is possible to do this alone. After all, even the great creativity that has remained in the shadows is unlikely to be called art. If no one had noticed such great artists as Picasso or Dali, then they would hardly have been able to realize themselves or understand that they did it.
It is easier to find a place in the group, as well as people for whose sake I would like to try. Climbing the high career ladder, you, one way or another, realize yourself. But to evaluate the height of one’s rise is possible only in society, in a collective.
