Physiotherapy in Gynecology

Along with traditional medicines, gynecologists widely apply in their practice physiotherapeutic methods based on the action of current, magnetic field, laser and ultrasound. In many cases, these techniques become an important complement to treatment, and often the only thing that can help with gynecological disease.

Every day, new devices and, accordingly, techniques appear more and more, but the basic ones (baths, electrophoresis, cure) have not lost their relevance.

Treatment is selected individually and depends not only on age, level of reproductive system disorders, but also on the effectiveness of the treatment given earlier.

Physiotherapy in gynecology has several directions, among which are apparatus therapy, methods using natural components (for example, showers, mud baths), as well as manual therapy (massage).

Most female diseases are associated with a violation of the blood supply to the pelvic organs, and physical methods eliminate this phenomenon. Also, one should not forget about neuralgia (pelvic ganglioneuritis), characteristic of women in a position where it is not recommended to take many medications. Representatives of the fair sex know that physiotherapy, the treatment of which is absolutely painless and safe, improves overall well-being and benefits the entire body.

What diseases are prescribed physiotherapy in gynecology?

This mainly concerns inflammatory diseases and the adhesion process. A fixed bend of the cervix, menstrual irregularities (up to amenorrhea), infertility, hormonal deficiency (primary and secondary) can be corrected. Some methods are used to recover from surgery and childbirth, as well as to prepare for the upcoming pregnancy after a miscarriage. Physiotherapy in gynecology is used for menopausal problems, menopause, as well as painful coitus.

The most common pathology in which such therapy is prescribed is an adhesion process in the pelvis. After the course, adhesions become softer and more extensible, which reduces pain and improves bowel function. Of course, only surgery can be a radical method of treatment, but after that, physiotherapy is still prescribed to prevent the formation of new adhesions.
