Grammar school β„–1 (Chelyabinsk): address, director, reviews

Unique in its history and preserved traditions Gymnasium No. 1 of Chelyabinsk, or school No. 1 named after F. Engels - the first school in Chelyabinsk, where they studied English in depth from the 1st grade. She has always been and remains a place of attraction for her graduates. It was not for nothing that they called it β€œan asterisk on the map of the city”.

History

Gymnasium No. 1 in Chelyabinsk, formerly School No. 1 named after Engels, was established in 1861 as a female gymnasium. In those days, to get permission to open a school in the city, it took a lot of work. The state treasury did not seek to fork out for public education. Only when the necessary amount of money was collected (petty bourgeoisie, artisans, merchants, the mayor V.A. Motovilov and his relative N.A. Birintsev), the necessary permission was obtained.

The first graduation of students took place after 3 years. And since there were more and more girls wanting to get an education every year, new teachers were attracted, and the school constantly moved in search of more spacious study rooms. Almost every year new classes opened, and by 1905 there were already six.

Until 1920, it was an exclusively female gymnasium, which was located in a building on Zwilling Street. In the early 1920s, a reorganization followed - the women's gymnasium was combined with the men's real school. And the educational institution still has not had its premises.

By 1935, it was already a full-fledged high school with a ten-year curriculum that had a new building. Since then, the address of the Gymnasium No. 1 of Chelyabinsk has not changed: 59 Krasnaya Street.

It was in this building that the fame and pride of this unique educational institution began to be created and grow.

Directors

Vladimir Abramovich Karakovsky is the most sonorous and bright name for the school. He was the director of school number 1 in the period from 1963 to 1977. It was he who introduced the system of collective creative education, during which communal fees began to be held.

Vladimir Abramovich Karakovsky

In 1971, he was awarded the title of Honored Teacher of the RSFSR School for an effective methodology.

To date , Timirkhanov Damir Galikhanovich is the director of the Gymnasium No. 1 and a worthy successor to the work of V. A. Karakovsky.

Director and favorite of the school

He revived the traditions lost in the 90s, returned the school profile and exclusivity. He also recreated the atmosphere of trust and significance of each participant in the educational process.

Damir Galikhanovich came to school No. 1 as a student - he graduated from grades 9-10. After serving in the army, he entered the Chelyabinsk Pedagogical Institute and at the same time worked as a pioneer leader in his own school. Then he taught, became deputy director and is still the permanent and beloved director of the Gymnasium No. 1 for teachers, as well as for students and their parents.

They talk about him the same way as once about V.A. Karakovsky: "Strict, but fair."

Communal fees

The history of the unique tradition began in 1963, when several students of the current Gymnasium No. 1 of Chelyabinsk went to the All-Union camp of the Central Committee of the Komsomol "Orlyonok" and took part in the first communal gatherings.

September 1, 1984

These were the new followers of the Timur movement - those who helped and supported. Here is a set of rules by which members of the COP live:

  • The law of the red banner. The most important law. Around the clock at the banner carried the guard. Disrespect for him was considered the worst offense.
  • The law of a raised hand. Teaches respect the thoughts and initiatives of others. He raised his right hand - that means there is something to say. Everyone fell silent and listened carefully.
  • The law of the song. Kommunar songs are a special world. Out of respect for the song and the performers, it was not allowed to interrupt the sound until the last chord.
  • The law of accuracy and punctuality. This is respect for each other.
  • Live for a smile comrade!
  • Do not squeak!
  • Better hard than boring.
  • You criticize - offer, offer - do!
  • Think collectively. Work promptly. To argue convincingly. Required for everyone.
  • True, but without loud phrases, beauty, but without embellishment, and goodness is not for show - that’s what is expensive for us!
  • Without coercion, the commune lives. The thing is calling: volunteers - go!

The communal fees of the Gymnasium No. 1 of Chelyabinsk also have their own anthem and their motto: "When leaving, leave the light." This is like another planet, where there is no place for politics, meanness, indifference.

Alyosha

Grammar school number 1 - the only one in the city, on the site in front of which there is a monument - a wounded soldier raises a banner, leaning on a machine gun. This is Alyosha. He personifies all the graduates who went to the front of the Second World War. Their names are carved on plates that are installed to the right of the monument. There are 119 names in total. In front of the plates are traces of soldier's boots. And the search for heroes does not stop until now.

Opening of the monument, 09/19/1970

The beginning of the creation of the monument was October 29, 1968. At its base, a letter was laid to the descendants in the sleeve.

Alyosha was created by the sculptor Viktor Bochkarev, disgraced in those days. The monument was erected on the money earned by school students in construction teams, on subbotniks.

Museum

Every year, for 50 years, on September 19, a solemn line is held in front of the school porch, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of students and teachers of the school who participated in the war.

And since 1967, a special museum was created at the school, where materials are collected about all the students of the school who went to the front.

Gigantic in scope, the work was done by Varvara Mitrofanovna Pimenova, who, until the last days of her life, was conducting search work. It was to Damir Galikhanovich in her last request that she bequeathed not to abandon the work that had begun and to bring it to the end. And the head of the Gymnasium No. 1 of Chelyabinsk keeps his word.

Reviews

Modern gymnasium number 1 has its own groups in social networks. Information is daily updated here, life is seething with new events, ideas, and wishes.

It is still the best school in the city. Former graduates give their children here because they are confident in the high standards of teaching and educating young generations. Many teachers who came here as graduates of pedagogical institutes and have worked for more than 40 years are no longer there. But they transferred to their students, who replaced them in the teaching field, their love for the profession, for knowledge, for children.

Thanks to D. G. Timirkhanov, his efforts, faith and perseverance in achieving his goals, the Chelyabinsk Gymnasium No. 1 receives only the best reviews from parents, students and graduates. To make sure of this, just go to school - at a break, when classes are in progress, during the communal fees or just read the communication on social networks.
