Career
The beginning of her career was very unexpected for the actress - she began with stand-ups as a comedian in Canada in the nineties of the twentieth century. After moving to Los Angeles, she began working in the theater, and after she moved to television, however, at first she got mostly small roles in individual episodes of television series.
Realizing that she must decide her fate herself, Nia Vardalos returned to the theater and wrote the script for the production of "My Big Greek Wedding." The production received little success with the audience, Vardalos noticed the studio, and it was after that that she got her first major work - she played 10 different roles in one play in Los Angeles.

After this play, Nia Rita Wilson, who noticed, proposed to make a film directed by "My Big Greek Wedding", it was he who brought the actress tremendous success. Moreover, the film became the most commercially viable, because the fees paid off the budget many times over.

The next two works of Vardalos were bad enough, judging by the fact that both projects were ultimately closed. The first project is the comedy series "Nia Vardalos", in which she played a major role, but it was closed after seven episodes shot.

The film, in comparison with the previous ones, gained popularity among viewers and fell in love with them.
The actress played a major role in the film "I Hate Valentine's Day", released in 2009. She played a florist girl who in every possible way avoids a long romantic relationship, but life changes, and she has to change with her.
Two years later, Vardalos wrote the script for the film "Larry Crown", which received high ratings. The film tells about a certain Larry who lost his job due to lack of proper education, almost lost his house, and then decided to go to university to get higher education. It is this decision that changes his life. The main characters of the film are the already famous actress Nia Vardalos and Tom Hanks.
