Fans of American TV shows are familiar with the persona of the producer, director and screenwriter Donald Bellisario. Best known for creating the series The Air Wolf, The Quantum Leap, and The Naval Police: Special Unit.

Donald Paul Bellisario was born on August 8, 1935 in the town of Coquenburg, Pennsylvania. The father was Italian Albert Jethro, and the mother was Serbian Dan.

Donald Bellisario has served in the U.S. Navy Marine Corps since 1955. Four years later, he received the rank of sergeant and completed military service.

In 1961 received an academic bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Pennsylvania. And in 2001 he received the highest Distinguished Alumnus award, which is received by graduates of this university.

Four years later, he got a job as a copywriter in Lancaster, and a few years later Donald was the creative director of one of the Dallas agencies. He was later promoted to senior vice president of the agency. But for the sake of his future activities, he left everything and went to Hollywood.

Donald Bellisario has been married four times, has seven native and two adopted children. The last wife of the producer was Vivienne, they married in November 1998.

Career

Donald Bellisario, whose films have long been known to the viewer, has created more than twenty films during his career.

The first three works were published in 1977-1978. In them, Bellisario acted as a screenwriter. The first serious work was the series “The Black Sheep Bleating,” where Donald worked not only as a screenwriter, but also as a producer and director.

In 2004, the producer received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
