Films about prison have long gained popularity with the viewer. Here is the Green Mile, and the Shawshank Redemption, and many others. The list is very impressive. In 2005, Fox presented its audience the series “Prison Break” (“Prison Break”), or rather, its first season.
Summary
Unlike most Russian jail films, Prison Break reveals an intricate, dramatic story to the viewer. Michael Scofield, a smart guy and successful businessman, wants to get Lincoln Burrows, his older brother, out of the Fox River (maximum security prison). The only way to freedom is flight, and without Michael's participation this most sophisticated escape in the history of films about the prison and the zone is impossible.
Having thought through everything to the smallest detail, Scofield organizes a fake bank robbery, and for this he is put into the Fox River. There, he begins to establish contacts with local prisoners and authorities, as well as with prison staff. And gradually begins to prepare his escape, the plan of which is always with him - he is encrypted in a tattoo that covers the entire torso and arms of the guy. Michael was directly involved in the reconstruction of the Fox River, and in the wild had all the schemes and plans for this facility. Therefore, when Scofield was sent there to serve a term, he already knew perfectly well what to do.
Seasons
Films about the prison often illustrate that prisoners tend to break into gangs. So the prisoners at Fox River are divided into several warring factions. However, Scofield needs the help of people from different gangs, and he has to balance between hostile parties, which causes a lot of trouble and problems. Yes, and getting to the right parts and premises of the prison is quite problematic ... However, the life of a sibling is at stake, and there is no turning back.
The series consists of four seasons, and in the second season (2006-2007), the creators significantly moved away from the prison theme. One blogger wrote: “The name“ Prison Break ”must be worn by a TV series or film about the prison, and in the second season there is no prison. I feel cheated. If the rest of the seasons will not be related to the zone, then the creators have chosen this name in vain. ”
However, the directors seemed to understand this themselves, and the third season (2007-2008) reaffirmed the name of the series. Although, as Paul Scheurring (director, producer and screenwriter of the series) rightly noted, “Films about the prison, for example,“ Escape from the Shawshank ”, take only a couple of minutes to escape. And this does not prevent them from being the best films in the history of cinema. ”
Russian remake
Realizing that films about the prison and the zone in Russia are quite popular, and the American and Russian prison are completely different concepts, the head of the First Channel Konstantin Ernst decided to create a remake of the series adapted for our vast Motherland. The first season of “Escape” was broadcast on Channel One in the fall and winter of 2010. Thanks to the original idea, the complex plot and famous actors, the audience received the series perfectly. The only thing that disappointed them was the end of the season (since many did not know that they would shoot the sequel). Other Russian jail films are unlikely to boast such successes. In 2012, the second season of the series was shown, at the moment the third is being shot. Many viewers look forward to continuing.
