The history of the village
The village of Konstantinovo was founded at the beginning of the 17th century and has almost four hundred years of history. At that time, the place belonged to the royal family. After some time, the princes Myshetsky and Volkonsky received a gift of possession.
Most of it went to one of the Myshetsky brothers - Yakov, whose lands were inherited by his daughter Natalya, who married K.A. Naryshkin - close Peter the Great. Later, the descendants of the Naryshkins, Golitsins, and Olsufievs became owners. In 1987, the honorary Moscow citizen, millionaire I.P. Kulakov, became the owner of the village, after his death, the daughter, Lidia Ivanovna Kashina, became the mistress.
But Konstantinovo gained the greatest fame later - already in the 20th century. On October 3, 1895, the future poet Sergei Yesenin was born here. Sergei Aleksandrovich spent his childhood and youth in this place. The name of the village itself has no mention in his works, but the reader cannot help but feel the inextricable link between the two components: Yesenin - Homeland. She is in the form of a collective image sung in many of his poems.
Yesenin Literary Museum
In the center of the village is a memorial complex - Yesenin Museum, this is a seemingly ordinary house with carved shutters on three windows. In fact, the hut in which the poet lived from the age of 15 burned out 3 years before his death. Not without the efforts of Yesenin's sisters - Catherine and Alexandra - the spirit of the atmosphere that was during the life of their brother was recreated.
Trees planted by Sergey Aleksandrovich a year before his death grow on the territory of the complex; a makeshift with a roof of straw and a barn is open for visitors, in which the poet wrote some of his famous poems.
Other attractions
The village of Konstantinovo is famous for its monument of architecture of the 17th century - the Kazan Church. Initially, it was wooden, so it often burned. It was rebuilt numerous times, and later, at the end of the 18th century, a stone version was erected by decree of Golitsyn. From that moment, the temple was watched and protected from any external influences. The church married the parents of S. Yesenin, and after the poet himself was baptized in it. With the coming to power of the Bolsheviks, the temple began to be used as a barn and warehouse for agricultural machinery. Currently used for its intended purpose.
The Zemsky school was built by decree of the merchant S. Kupriyanov to educate peasant children. Sergey Yesenin studied in it from the age of 9, it was destroyed, then restored in 1994. In the school you can see the exposition telling about the student’s period of the poet’s life, his mentors, about the Zemstvo schools in general and their role in the educational and upbringing process.
The chapel of the Holy Spirit is located across the street from the church, the original view was not preserved, restored in 2002.
It pleases the eye and the park in honor of Sergei Yesenin. In 1970, it was decided to break up a small, cozy public garden next to the poet’s stepfather’s house. In 2007, a monument to the poet was erected at its base.
Natural beauty
Rybnovsky district is proud of its picturesque nature, typically Russian flavor. Konstantinovo united everything at once: inconspicuous rickety huts with carved shutters, and plowed fields, and wide meadows with fragrant herbs, and birch groves, and numerous rivers and lakes. The steep bank of the Oka River opens up distant distances, hills that you can admire endlessly. All this was selflessly loved by the national poet Sergei Yesenin.
