The early years of the hockey player. Relationship with father
Mikhail Grabovsky was born on January 31, 1984 in the city of Potsdam (Germany). The family lived there for several years, while the father of the hockey player worked as a designer at the factory. Then the family moved to Belarus, where the head of the family took seriously the upbringing of his son. It was he who at one time instilled in Mikhail a love of hockey and a desire for victory. Yuri Alexandrovich, Mikhail’s dad, was fond of hockey as a child - he participated in sports from the school, drove the puck with the boys in the yard. But when it came time to enroll in the hockey section, he did not pass the selection and decided to try himself in speed skating. And the cherished dream was subsequently realized by his son. It is not for nothing that in many interviews the hockey player calls Yuri Alexandrovich his coach. The father was anxious about raising his son, spent most of his time with him, taught him how to drive a car.
The game as part of Dynamo
Mikhail Grabovsky began his sports career at the Minsk Youth Club. In 2005-2006 he helped his home club win the championship of Belarus. Grabowski already played in Russia. Vladimir Krikunov, a coach, included a talented and promising hockey player in the team of Neftekhimik. He played with this team for two seasons, and then, together with his coach, he moved to Dynamo.
As part of the Moscow team, he did not perform very well, gaining only 28 points in 48 matches. But then he flashed in the game of the European Cup, where for three matches he was able to accumulate eight points. Dynamo won then, and Mikhail proved himself in a worthy manner and became simply an irreplaceable player.
Montreal Canadiens
After such a quick take-off, Mikhail Grabovsky decided to try his hand at the National Hockey League. But his life in America was not easy. He made his debut among the main team of “Montreal” in the January match against the Rangers. Then the hockey player played in the position of the central striker. He failed to gain a foothold in the NHL, which was offset by his unprecedented achievements in the AHL, where he scored 54 points with 66 games. The club then was lucky to break into the playoffs.
Game season 2007-2008 he started with the Montreal Canadiens team, and soon got his first American Hockey League point in an ice duel with Buffalo. After a couple of days, he also managed to check in very successfully in the game with Boston.
Lull
However, after a couple of successful competitions Mikhail Borisovich Grabovsky was again sent to the AHL according to the decision of the leadership, which, of course, did not appeal to the athlete. Not getting into the ranks of the selected individuals to participate in the match with the Phoenix, the hockey player decides to leave the club and discusses with his agent possible ways to further develop his career.
Return
In the summer of 2008, Montreal nevertheless decided to exchange the player represented by Greg Paterin for the already experienced Mikhail Grabovsky, who immediately concluded an agreement with the Toronto hockey club. In this roster, he managed to quickly become a leader, gaining 48 points in 78 games in the first game. Then Michael distinguished himself not only with an excellent game. He received a three-match suspension for resisting a judge who attempted to reassure a Belarusian athlete.
In July 2009, Mikhail Grabovsky entered into a new agreement with the Maple Leaf Club for a period of three game seasons.
Hockey player Mikhail Grabovsky managed to get through all the age teams of Belarus. As part of his core team, he made his debut at the 2004 World Cup. Today, he is often recognized as the most irreplaceable player, who has already distinguished himself more than once for his tenacity in achieving his goals, efficiency, and skillful maneuvers. At the 2009 World Cup, he was recognized as the best player of his team, and then, in the same year, he was awarded the title of best player in Belarus.
