Sometimes template action films and criminal dramas can be boring to the experienced spectator. Then he begins to actively search for a movie that is distinguished by its specificity and unusual style, while combining several genres. Fans of crime and comedies, who have watched a lot of films, sooner or later come to see something that will very subtly and witty bring out bored stamps, breathing new life into them. This is exactly what Martin McDonagh made his picture “Seven Psychopaths”.
Actors skillfully embodied on screen some of the brightest images in the history of cinema. Thanks to their magnificent game, unique style and fascinating plot, this tape came out so memorable.
Plot
The Hollywood screenwriter Marty still can not find lost inspiration. Recently, his life is not going in the best way, as a result of which he often begins to drink. Marty is obsessed with one inimitable idea for a film that tells the stories of several inveterate psychopaths, intertwined together. However, words and images are hardly poured on paper, and then he shares his idea with his best friend, and part-time bored actor, Billy. Together, they develop concepts for some characters, and work begins to move. But suddenly a series of terrible and unforeseen incidents collapses on friends.
Billy and his friend Hans are engaged in a very strange kind of fraud. They abduct dogs, and after a few days return the pets to the owners for a fee. Without knowing it, they steal the beloved dog, the gangster Charlie, known for his cruelty, and now he opens a bloody and merciless hunt for them. However, this also has its advantages, because now Marty himself becomes part of his future scenario called "Seven Psychopaths." All the actors, in fact, are the main characters of his film, too.
Creator
The script was independently written and implemented by British director Martin McDonagh. Being a relatively new face in the cinema, he can already boast of great success. In 2004, his short work received an Oscar. And the debut film with a very impressive cast of “Get to the Bottom of Bruges” wins the Golden Globe in 2008. Not every representative of the film profession begins a career so successfully.
His second work is the painting "Seven Psychopaths", the actors of which are also famous and successful personalities. It is noteworthy that Martin has a brother, John Michael McDonagh, also a director, with whom in 2011 they worked together on the film Once Upon a Time in Ireland.
Sam Rockwell
The role of Sam Rockwell is probably the most memorable in this picture. His Billy Bickle is a very controversial character, an idea about which develops throughout the whole story. On his account - several nominations at world film awards and even “Silver Bear” of the Berlin Film Festival for the film “Confessions of a Dangerous Person”. Over the course of his thirty-year career, Rockwell has played about eighty diverse roles, from minor to major. In the foreground he can be seen in such famous paintings as “Moon 2112”, “Charlie's Angels”, “Magnificent Scam” and “Frost vs. Nixon”. His character is also key in the film "Seven Psychopaths." The actors who played other roles here are certainly impressive, but by no means as much as Rockwell.
Colin Farrell
The world-famous native of Ireland also made a significant contribution to the film "7 Psychopaths." Actors often like to collaborate with certain directors, forming some creative tandems with them. Colin Farrell is the only one declared in the film who starred in the lead role in McDonagh's previous work, “Bury Down in Bruges”. By the way, precisely because of this, in 2009 he received the Golden Globe. In addition, Farrell has been nominated for other prestigious awards more than once. He can be seen young in Alexander, Minority Opinion, American Heroes, and Daredevil.
Recently, the actor begins to gain more and more fame and star in extremely successful and high-profile projects. These include "Obnoxious Bosses", "Remember Everything", the series "True Detective", "Julien Froken" and received a lot of applause at the 2015 Lobster Cannes Film Festival. In addition to his image as a neurotic screenwriter and dreamer Marty, whose name refers to the director himself, there are other roles that deserve attention.
Christopher Walken
The actor Christopher Walken, who embodied the image of an elderly Hans who got involved in a crazy scam, is one of the most iconic and most sought after in Hollywood. He began his career back in 1952, on his account now more than a hundred films. Walken has a very specific appearance, thanks to which he often plays villains and antiheroes. But there are neutral and positive images in his filmography, and in addition to the picture “Seven Psychopaths,” whose actors cannot boast of so many roles. Among his most famous works are Pulp Fiction, Sleepy Hollow, Hairspray, Catch Me If You Can, and Deer Hunter. For participating in the latter as a supporting actor, he received his only Oscar back in 1979. Despite his age, Walken still continues to act in films.
Other roles
The above heroes are more likely the protagonists of the film "Seven Psychopaths." The actors and roles performed by them, however, need not be kind and positive in order to arouse interest. So, Woody Harrelson played the main villain, the very Charlie, from whom the adorable dog was kidnapped. In this picture, he is precisely that character, which from the first seconds can be attributed to the category of the most desperate and insane psychopaths. In recent years, Harrelson's filmography has been replenished with an increasing number of interesting roles. Like Colin Farrell, he starred in the series "True Detective", but only in a different season.
The cast of the film "7 Psychopaths" can also be called very diverse. For example, the famous American musician Tom Waits, Australian Abby Cornish, the breakthrough of 2009 Gaburi Sibide, a native of Slovenia Zeljko Ivanek and our compatriot Olga Kurylenko starred in it.
