Paul Johansson is an American actor, screenwriter, director. Born in 1964, January 26th. He is the son of the legendary hockey player Earl Johnson, who changed his name to Johansson, to confirm the Swedish origin. The replacement was successful; Earl's Swedish origin was no longer in doubt. And the son, in addition to knowledge of the Swedish language, is fluent in French.
Cinema and sports
Paul Johansson was born in the United States, but grew up in the Canadian city of Vancouver. Engaged in athleticism, like his father, became an NHL player. He brought to the first place among colleges the hockey team of his university. Then he decided to try his hand at basketball. He played in the Canadian national team for two years, in 1986 in China and Korea, and devoted the whole of 1987 to the national teams of Israel and Greece.
Nevertheless, at some point, Paul Johansson suddenly decides to change his bright enough sports career to the dazzling lights of Hollywood.
The first role went to the novice actor in the popular series "Santa Barbara", this happened in 1984. The debut was successful, soon Paul Johansson starred in other television shows, such as Beverly Hills, 90210, Parker Levize Can't Stay, and others.
Being a convinced bachelor, the actor could spend all his time in California, in Venice, at one of Wilmington's studios in North Carolina.
First major role
Once Paul was lucky, he got the main role in the action movie "Midnight Witness" directed by Peter Foldy. Then in 1997, Paul Johansson, whose films became increasingly visible, played in the nickname Kasavetis’s melodrama "She is Beautiful," and the following year he successfully played a role in the detective "Carnival of Souls" by Ian Kessner and Adam Grossman.
In 2000, the actor brilliantly played the role of a Wes soldier in Matthews' Western called Angels in Armor. Then the director Paul Matthews invited Johansson to his next project - the action movie "Immortal Warriors", where he played the main character.
A separate story in Paul’s career is the movie Alpha Dog, where he plays episodes with Justin Timberlake, Sharon Stone and Bruce Willis.
In 2002, the actor played a fairly large role in the Canadian-American dramatic production of director Anne Wheeler, entitled "On the Edge of Madness." In the same period, Paul took part in the thriller Shiah Dominique "Darkness Comes Down." And then the actor starred in the action movie "The Boondock Saints."
Johansson made his directorial debut in 1998. It was a short film, Conversations at Limbo, for which Paul personally wrote the script, and he invited Troy Duffy and Nick Cassavetes to the lead roles. And then Paul Johansson took an active part in the creation of the multi-part "One Tree Hill", acting as a director.
Personal life
The actor’s private life is not particularly attractive to reporters, he still has not created a family, he has no children. The whole interest of the journalistic fraternity has long been supported by a fictional story about some kind of mythical rape or harassment of a young journalist who received an editorial task to interview Paul Johansson. And that he allegedly maliciously used steamy things like "I can direct my ball so that it goes into your throat" ... The stretch is more than obvious - the sensation failed.
The rest of the actor’s personal life is closely connected with sports, meetings on the field, games, competitions. Thus, Paul Johansson, whose personal life is quite serene, can not count on sensational revelations. The actor continues to live in peace, acts in the next film and plays football.
