OJSC Safonovsky Electric Machine-Building Plant is a large manufacturer of electric motors in a wide range of capacities, exhaust fans, industrial fans, electric boilers, water and air heaters. Due to a reasonable combination of quality and cost, the company's products are in constant demand in the domestic and foreign markets. In 2003, the SEZ entered the Ruselprom concern.
Creature
The decision to organize the production of synchronous motors in the Smolensk region was made by the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR on January 30, 1960. The Central Electric Workshops of the Dorogobuzhshakhtstroy Trust in the Safonovo District Center were chosen as the location. Already in the autumn of that year, workers assembled four experimental generators, the tests of which were successful.
The first building of the Safonovsky Electric Machine Building Plant was built by the end of 1960. However, mass production of the main products had to wait 10 years. In 1971, the SEZ launched the production of a whole family of electric water heaters with a power range of 9-400 kW. These products remain an important area of the plant’s work today.
Main products
In 1972, the production of compressor synchronous motors began at the Safonovsky Electric Machine-Building Plant. A year later, the production of thyristors was established. The team responsibly approached their work. Their products at the famous Leipzig Fair won a large gold medal.
The accumulated experience has significantly expanded the range of products. In 1976, the old engines on the assembly line were replaced by a new generation of synchronous and asynchronous electric motors, both general industrial and specialized:
- pumping;
- drilling;
- crane;
- submersible.
Safonovsky Electric Machine-Building Plant is becoming one of the industry leaders. The innovative engine of the DA-304 series received another gold medal at a representative exhibition in the Czech Republic.
The 80s were marked by the modernization of the production base. In 1987, the plant expanded due to a new production site. By the end of 1992, factory workers released a jubilee - one hundred thousandth electric car.
Today
Entering the market realities was not easy for the Safonovsky Electric Machine Building Plant. In 1992, the company was incorporated. In 1999 received the necessary certificates of ISO 9000 international standard. However, the financial performance of the enterprise was unstable.
In December 2003, the SEZ became part of the Ruselprom concern, which made it possible to find funds for the comprehensive re-equipment of technological capacities. In particular, foreign metalworking equipment was purchased. Attraction of large loans led to the fact that in 2009 the plant was declared bankrupt. However, the introduction of external management made it possible to find some ways to improve the enterprise. Today, the SEZ continues to work.
The production is equipped with CNC machines, automated lines, unique special equipment. Updated lathes, boring, drilling machines. A computerized plasma cutting unit of the Yenisei family was purchased for the welding site. Punching units allow to produce both single products and guarantee uninterrupted mass production. In 2010, the plant acquired the latest winding-insulating complex, which allows automatic winding of rods.
Production
Currently, TD LLC Safonovsky Electric Machine Building Plant offers its customers a wide range of electric machines:
- asynchronous electric motors (more than 40 series), the most popular of which is the A4 model;
- synchronous (8 series);
- generators, including traction and explosion-proof;
- starting devices;
- drying fans for cooling towers;
- electric motors for cranes, excavators;
- water and air heaters
The company is able to produce giant engines with power up to 2000 kW. In recent years, the SEZ has mastered the manufacture of explosion-proof electric machines, generators for BelAZ mining dump trucks, and motors for operation as part of variable-frequency drives. The company is licensed by Gosatomnadzor, which allows it to manufacture electric motors for domestic nuclear power plants.
