The actress was born in the city of Moscow on December 4, 1937. Her father, Viktor Stepanov, was shot in 1937, before the birth of his daughter. He was originally from the Kuban Cossacks, worked as a major civil engineer in Germany and the USSR.
Her mother, Galina Arkhangelskaya, was a quarter Georgian. The maternal grandfather was the mayor of Lipetsk and the royal general. Shot in the revolution by the Reds.

Her debut role on the stage of the theater was the role in the production of "Two Colors" with Igor Kvasha. Then she played with Oleg Efremov in the play "Nobody."
In 1962, Natalia Arkhangelskaya moved to the Ermolova Moscow Drama Theater , in which she still serves and is a leading actress.

Personal life
In the personal life of Natalia Arkhangelskaya there were three official marriages. The first husband was Jacob Segel - a famous director and actor. The age difference of 14 years affected the rapid breakdown. Natalia was very young and did not really understand why she married him, and her husband was very jealous of her.
After three months of married life, she went to the son of actress Angelina Stepanova and stepson of the author of “Young Guard” Alexander Fadeev, a stormy romance with which also ended.
The second husband of Natalia was the actor and theater director Vladimir Andreev, with whom they lived for seven years in a civil marriage. Still, having signed, the couple broke up in a month. Vladimir went to the actress Natalia Selezneva.
The third husband, with whom they lived 30 years in a happy marriage, was the French correspondent Vlad Wisniewski. For her sake he left the family. Natalia Arkhangelskaya gave her consent to marry only seven years later.
The husband passed away before he reached the age of seventy. The last 10 years before his death, he was sick (Alzheimer's disease). More Natalia did not marry.
