His track record is insignificant, but his work has already managed to conquer the audience and critics. So who is Roman Karimov?

The novel was born in 1984 in Ufa. Since school years, he did not experience difficulties in learning, and therefore graduated from high school as an excellent pupil. All roads were open to the young man: Roman Karimov had every chance to go further, to encroach, for example, on graduate school, but he wanted to quickly begin to live an adult, independent life.
The choice of a higher educational institution fell on the Institute of Economics and Informatics, for which Roman went to the capital. Here he quickly found friends and quickly mastered all the subjects. No one doubted that he had a red diploma in his hands. And even when this came true, it seems that only Roman was in doubt : what to do next, where to look for yourself? Lawyer, financier, accountant, auditor ... Each of these professions, which he easily mastered, required a routine monotony and focused attention. He needed something else. More creative activity, the work of the creator and creator.

He soon found her quickly. Roman Karimov got a job as a DJ in a nightclub and realized that it was much nicer. Despite the “crusts” lying in the drawer, the young man was not going to become one of a thousand of his own office workers. He firmly decided to do only what is closest to him. For example, compose music for trailers and short films.

The novel moves to London. He dreams of a better life, and of what he will achieve in the English capital. But apart from a car wash, construction and restaurants, Misty Albion could not offer anything. The local channel Viasat frees up for Roman the place of the publishing editor, and then the promotional producer. In addition, the young man removes trailers for upcoming films and produces short films on the BBC. But this does not suit the ambitious guy. Two years later, Karimov returned to Moscow and realized that there was no place better than the capital.

A young man finds himself where he can come in handy. The idea of ​​creating short films appears on their native land . And a new Roman Karimov is born. The films that he will shoot in the next few years will be devoted to the problems of youth - the topic that is most understandable and close to him. “Do not worry!”, “Optimist” and “Apartment 29” almost immediately win the sympathy of critics and receive prizes at film festivals. The last picture tells of friends who have known since childhood. Now fate is pushing two different people - a district police officer and a drug dealer. Director Karimov himself admits that he chose this topic for a reason. He wanted to offer his variation of such a widespread social ailment as drug addiction.
He also says that he is neutral towards education. So, Roman never studied directing; to all that he can, he reached himself. At the same time, Karimov rarely watched films of famous directors from whom he could learn something. The main thing, he believes, is the desire to do what you love, which ultimately will surely find its audience. In 2008, Roman became the promotional director of the film with the participation of Pavel Volya “Plato”.

In 2010, Roman’s first feature film was released. The drama “Inadequate People”, with a modest budget of $ 100 thousand, made six times more profit.
