Mordovia is a football club founded in 1961 in Saransk. He is the champion of the National Football League championship in the season 2011/12 and 2013/14.

Today, “Mordovia” is a football club, which is on the last line of the Premier League table. But 10 years ago, in 2005, they were in the middle of the rating of the second division. Then it was a difficult time for them. In 2006, the players tried, and took second place in the 2nd division - they managed to score 72 points. So they got into the first division. However, they did not last there for long - immediately in 2007 and flew back. And again, everything in a circle: in 2008 - the same seventh place, and in 2009 - a breakthrough, already a victory in the Championship of the first division.
It was a success. “Mordovia” - a football club is not one of the strongest, however, having got into the 1st division in 2009, they decided not to miss their chance again. They began to show a good game. Thanks to this, they managed to climb to sixth place in the first division. And that was their best result ever.

The best result was their entry into the ¼ final of the Russian Cup. But then they lost to CSKA Moscow with a score of 0: 3. True, then they managed to repeat this success - much later, in the 2009/10 season, but still. There they played against the Vladikavkaz FC Alania. And the score was again 0: 3.
But the results of the 2011/12 Russian Championship were comforting for the team. The club entered the Premier League for the first time in history, defeating the Yaroslavl team “Shinnik” with a score of 2: 0. However, the debut season for the club ended with a departure from the Premier League. But after a season, the team returned to the elite.
In 2014, the players took control of the coach Yuri Semin. With “Mordovia” he worked for a year, and then went to “Anji”. Since the current season (2015/16), the club has been led by Andrei Gordeev.

“Mordovia” is a football club that throughout its existence has been trying to succeed. Often it succeeded. The team debuted on May 2, 1961, and then the players won with a score of 2: 1 rival FC Geologist. The biggest victory is a win against FC Motor (the score was 6: 0).
In the USSR Cup, the club managed to reach only the 1/32 finals. But in the RSFSR Cup, the team reached the semifinals. That was in 1990. In the Championship of Russia, the biggest victory was the victory in the match against “Salute” from Saratov. “Mordovia” then won with a score of 9: 0. The team participated in the Cup of Russia 21 times. The best achievement is their quarter-finals (they reached this stage three times). The largest victory was in 1996, when the club played against the “Volga”, and they scored 5 goals against their opponents.
There are achievements too. Four times the team won first place in the Tournaments of the Volga region (2nd division) and twice won the FNL Championship.

Despite the fact that “Mordovia” is not the best Russian club, it is supported by thousands of fans. The team has really serious fan support, and it is known throughout Russia. And all because every year Christmas football fans' tournaments are held. And, of course, the attributes of FC “Mordovia”, which is noticeable at all matches, are attracting attention. Like the slogans invented by the fans. Although some of them are old Soviet songs.
The leader of the fan movement is Viktor Vanyagin. He has his own nickname - “Uncle Victor”. He is known for absolutely chanting his own chant at absolutely every game: “Great Mordva!” At the same time, Victor is very loud and characteristic whistles, thus accompanying shouts. At one point (November 3, 2012), a football activist even came under the “sight” of the NTV + “Our Football” TV channel.
