Poisoning. Treatment and first aid

Toxins and toxic substances, getting into the body, cause poisoning. Treatment should begin with an immediate emergency call, as the cause of excruciating malaise can be quite serious diseases. Similar symptoms are present in meningitis, appendicitis, and pneumonia.

The first signs may appear quite quickly, but sometimes the incubation period lasts several hours and even several days. If there is poisoning, treatment should be started immediately. It is especially important not to take medications, activated carbon, potassium permanganate, and antibiotics on your own. You should not lower the temperature if it does not rise above thirty-eight degrees. This is a natural reaction of an organism fighting offensive microbes. The use of antipyretic drugs is necessary only in case of a strong increase in temperature or if a sharp change is accompanied by convulsions.

Actions for poisoning should be as follows: immediate assistance and a competent approach. Help the victim remove the poisons, and for this, cleanse the stomach. Let him drink as much warm boiled water as possible. The most natural process when cleansing from toxic products and germs is vomiting. If it does not occur on its own, insert fingers into the victim's throat and press on the root of the tongue.

Next, cleanse the intestines with sorbents. They contribute to the bundle and the rapid elimination of viruses, toxins and poisons that poison the body. The main thing is not to combine their intake with other drugs and food. If the patient feels normal, the next steps in case of poisoning will be to normalize the digestive functions. The drug “Pancreatin”, “Creon” and “Mezim Forte” will help here .

It is known that with intestinal infections, the body loses large amounts of water, and with it, substances important for its normal vital activity are also excreted. These are salts of chlorine, potassium and sodium, which provide good work of the cardiovascular and excretory systems, kidneys and brain. Treatment of poisoning also consists in compensating for the loss of salts. Give the patient a solution of the drug "Rehydron", as well as special glucose-salt solutions for evaporation. It is best to purchase them at the pharmacy in advance and always keep it handy. They include herbal extracts and other phytocomponents that reduce stomach and intestinal cramps , relieve inflammation and alleviate the condition of the patient as a whole.

If poisoning suddenly occurs, treatment can also be carried out using a self-made solution. It will take half a kilogram of peeled carrots and one hundred grams of raisins. Boil them in a liter of water, add a spoonful of salt, half a spoonful of baking soda and at least five tablespoons of granulated sugar. Be sure to bring to a boil and strain. Home-made glucose-salt healing solution can be used. It is better to prepare at least three liters at once, since the fluid loss is quite large.

With viral diarrhea, the outcome of the whole disease depends on the degree of dehydration. Therefore, as soon as poisoning has occurred, treatment should include the intake of sugar-salt solution. There is no time for long cooking, just add eight tablespoons of sugar in boiled water, a spoonful of soda and salt. This temporary measure will significantly alleviate the patient’s condition and speed up the healing process.

Treatment of poisoning at home can be carried out only with a mild degree of malaise. In all other cases, immediate medical attention is required. Especially if the poisoning occurred after drinking low-quality alcohol, mushrooms, canned food, drugs, toxins and deadly poisons.
