A film director was born in the capital of England - London on October 1, 1972. The director's father is Richard Hooper, and his mother is Meredith Hooper. The future cinema figure grew up in a wealthy family, since his mother was a popular writer in Australia, and his father had his successful business in England. In addition to writing, Meredith also taught children.

During his childhood years, Hooper managed to get an education in total in two schools: Highgate School, as well as Westminster School. Tom Hooper since childhood was fond of cinema much more than his peers. Already a thirteen-year-old teenager, he made his first short film, which he called Painted Faces. With the shooting, the Bolex ms 16 mm camera helped him a lot. The boy got this technological novelty as a gift from a caring uncle. The film was shot so well that in 1992 it was officially shown on TV on Channel 4. Of course, Tom could not have achieved such success if his creation had not been financed by a man known as Paul Wayland.

One of them was awarded in the nomination "Best Film". At the same time, Tom Hooper received an Oscar in the nomination for Best Director.

However, this is not all. All in the same 2011 film "The King Speaks!" was also nominated for Golden Globe and BAFTA. However, later Tom’s other work was nominated for 8 Oscars. It was the movie Les Miserables made by Hooper in 2012.
