The events of the early 20s prompted the family to move to Germany. However, George's parents were unable to find their place in a foreign country. A few years later, the family returned to Russia. It was hard for them here.

Childhood

Actor George Teich learned early on what poverty was. There were days when the family didn’t even have money for food, they didn’t have the basic necessities. The boy began to work even in his teens, as his parents needed help. He worked as a loader, mason, shepherd. For some time George worked as a translator at the airport, which allowed him an impeccable knowledge of the German language.

From an early age, Teich dreamed of becoming a famous actor. The young man even began to study in the studio of Yuri Yuriev, which existed at the Alexandrinsky Theater. George could not finish his studies, as he was supposed to earn money and help his parents. He had to postpone the realization of his dream, but he did not forget about it.

Theatre

George Teich matured, but his desire to become an actor did not disappear. In 1925, the young man received an invitation to the LOSPS Theater. For more than 10 years, George shone on his stage. Most often, he got the role of handsome men, treacherous seducers, confident men. Say, Teich played the role of Ostrovsky in the Storm.

Repetilov and Khlestakov, Krutitsky and Kuligin, Balsaminov and Zhevakin, Koschey the Immortal and Baba Yaga - it’s hard to name all his bright heroes.
