Series, perhaps, is now almost the most popular genre of all that is shown on television. Indeed, what else to do in the evenings, after work, how not to watch the next episode of your favorite series for dinner and home cleaning. This article details the Russian TV series "The Long Way Home": the content of the series, the list of actors, and interesting facts. Watching this film is not only pleasant to pass the time in the evenings, but, having plunged into the atmosphere, imbued with the events that the main characters live in, you will be pleasantly surprised how harmoniously and lively the series tells about events that seemed to be fictional, but as if real.
The series "Long Way Home", the content of all episodes, to the smallest moments is very believable, as if taken from life - yours, your neighbor, colleague or superiors. Such series, probably, most fully reflect the life of Russia, with all its advantages and disadvantages, which, of course, are enough. Enjoy reading the novel and watching its adaptation!
The novel "unconsciousness" by Svetlana Petrova
In general, the series, which will be discussed in the article, was shot based on the novel by Russian writer Svetlana Petrova. Although, according to the author of the book, it was very difficult to find out her plot, her heroes, her ideas in the fact that he shot The First Channel. The writer responds very negatively about the film adaptation, adding that she "smacks of peppercorn." Well, the assessment is sharp, but unequivocal. What is the book about?
A book about love - first of all, in all its manifestations. After all, hatred, jealousy, suffering - all this is the face of one feeling. In any case, the writer shows us this very well.
The scene is the Soviet Union and post-Soviet Russia. The main characters are poor and rich, rural and urban residents, honest and not very. As the writer herself says, she tried to show life as it is - not embellishing, but not intimidating anyone or anything.
Critics about the novel
The book received good criticism from Russian writers; they read and buy it. For example, in many literary publications in Russia, it was noted that such a book now is not a very frequent phenomenon, despite the fact that the amount of published literature is growing. Also, the novel was recognized as very plot, interesting, able not only to “hook” the reader, but also to provide “food for thought”. The novel itself was written in 2010, the series was released - in 2014.
Long Way Home: TV Series Creation
The idea of the series came to the main director of the picture Olga Dobrova-Kulikova after she read the book of Svetlana Petrova. I wrote a script and got to work. The director of the picture never talked with the writer herself and never met, since the first sold the right to film adaptation to Channel One and did not really like the “TV men”.
Olga Dobrova-Kulikova herself is known to Russian viewers for such films as “If You Love - Forgive”, “Lucky in Love” and many others - some of the experts generally call the director “master of melodrama in Russia”.
Where and how were they filmed?
Scenes from the life of the village were filmed in the Yaroslavl region, in the village of Dievo-Gorodishche. Also, some of the scenes were filmed in Moscow and Ukraine.
During the filming, many difficulties arose that were heroically resolved by the actors. For example, due to a malfunction in the schedule, we had to shoot scenes of a hot summer day in the fall, and actors to swim in cold water, like in a warm river.
For almost a month, due to their busy work, they filmed not only during the day, but also at night. Actors playing roles, during the filming of "aging", fought and learned to ride motorcycles.
Actors and their comments
The main roles in the series were:
- Daria Moroz - she is familiar to viewers from the magnificent film by Yuri Bykov "The Fool". About the work in the series, she says that playing in it is a pleasure. All scenes resemble living reality - so detailed. I also liked very much that she performed several Soviet songs alive - for this, the girl even studied for a week with a vocal teacher. And it’s very cool that she had the opportunity to play a role, the age of which changes in the course of the plot. This is a very interesting experience.
- We know Elizabeth Boyarskaya from such films as “Courier from Paradise”, “Status: free.” She shares and says that her character appears on the screen in the fifth series. Initially, Lisa was even afraid to open the script - it seemed so voluminous to her. But she began to read, she was “hooked” and in one night the actress decided that she would play for sure! When shooting, Lisa feels very tired (tension still affects her), but she is very happy!
Also in the film were involved: Artyom Tkachenko, Mikhail Pshenichny, Evgenia Brik and many other, no less talented actors of Russian cinema.
"Long Way Home": a summary of all episodes of the first season
The eighties of the twentieth century. The handsome Vitaly came from the capital to the village where the main character Nadya lives, to spend a vacation in those places where his grandmother and grandfather live. He does not take Nadia’s feelings seriously, not paying attention to the girl in love with him. Vacation ends, Vitaly leaves for Moscow. Nadia decides to go after him, although her parents do not let her go - she runs away from home.
Arriving in Moscow, he learns that Vitaly has a bride - a ballet dancer, very beautiful and very popular in Moscow. But the girl does not despair ...
Over time, Vitali and Nadi begin a romance, the girl gives birth to a daughter, Lyalya. Vitaliy loves her very much, but he keeps his wife in the house in the position of a housewife, forbidding her to even study.
Lyalya is growing up, becoming a very beautiful girl - a real "socialite" from a wealthy family. She has a young man who in the future became her bridegroom and husband - Yuri. Nadia’s mother dies, she goes to the hospital with a heart attack.
Then begins a real kaleidoscope of meetings, partings, confessions of other emotional impulses, which are so rich in our domestic cinema. It’s better to watch the series “Long Way Home” than retelling the contents of all episodes, all the more so since all seasons, and therefore all episodes, are available on the Internet. In this article, the “spoiler” of the first few episodes is given, but what will happen next, given that the passions are only increasing, you will find out by watching the film adaptation of Petrova’s novel: the series Long Way Home, the final episodes. The content, of course, is slightly different from the "book" version, but it looks quite beautiful. Read a book and watch an adaptation.
Long Way Home (Season 2): Episode 1
The second season of this series is waiting for everyone who loves the film adaptation of the book of Svetlana Petrova. At the beginning of filming, it is officially reported, then all the information is “closed”. There is still no clear release date, and even more so, it is not clear what will happen in the TV series Long Way Home-2. The content of the series therefore can only be assumed. But the fact that the series promises to be saturated can be said in its first part - most likely, the director will try to continue to make it no worse, or maybe better.
Of course, after the start of filming the film "Long Way Home", the content of the series was edited by director Olga Dobrova-Kulikova, so to speak, "under the movie", so that the film adaptation looked bright, vivid and could arouse the interest of Russian viewers in domestic TV shows in the genre of melodrama. Even because of this, the writer, according to whose book the series was shot, reacted very negatively to this fact. Well, any director always has his own view of things, even if he does not find support from others. Therefore, given the content of the last episode of the film "The Long Way Home" is very promising and unexpected, it can be assumed that the second part of the series will be no less spectacular.
Are there any prerequisites for the creation of the second season?
Or maybe fans of the series are waiting in vain and will not continue? It seems that everything was over - there was a lot of tragedy, a lot of love, a lot of "cyclicality." But no, the probability that the second part will be quite high.

Firstly, the final series really fell in love with Russian viewers. “The long way home”, the content of which is very rich in intricacies of the plot, intrigues and other interesting things, even at the end presented such a thing, which in literature is usually called the “open finale”. On the one hand, the main character, after so many troubles and humiliations, returns to her mother’s village and, as it seems, finally “calms down” - finds truly “her place” on earth. On the other hand, an unusual letter that announces that a dearly beloved person has not died, but lives and longs to see. What is it? An interesting move to attract viewers to continue, or just a “game for imagination” - they say, let each viewer himself “finish” the finale? I think many people believe in the first option, which means that we can expect the release of the second part of the already beloved film "Long Way Home". The content of all the series, I think, can be found on the website of the television channel, which will release this film for rent. Whether this channel will be "First" or a film adaptation will change its "owner" is still unknown.
TV criticism
Of course, only positive emotions can not cause, I think, even the series, "trying to please everyone" - both yours and ours. Therefore, on the film adaptation of Petrova’s novel, there were many angry reviews.
Many accuse the director of the fact that he made another "pop" for Russian cinema from a good book. That the plot is very banal, that the events are simply replaced, leaving no “aftertaste”. A lot of negative reviews were directed against the actor who played Andrei - they say, he is very weak both in face and charisma. Very boring, with poor facial expressions and resembles a doll.
Critics (both experts and ordinary viewers) also note that there are a lot of “chernukha”. Constantly someone wants to kill someone, take revenge on someone, take away something. It goes through the red thread throughout the series.
Many did not appreciate the so-called "open finale", which, as if, ends with the "Long Way Home". The content of the last series of the film is called chaotic and "sucked out of the finger." Like: well, she returned and returned to her mother’s house - why again some “letters from the past” and other hints that there will be a continuation. There was, as critics put it, an unpleasant aftertaste and resentment at the director that he tortured with his intrigues and tricks.
"Technical details"
The main director of this picture was Olga Dobrova-Kulikova.
The script was written by Tatyana Artseulova.
The operators were Ivan Pomorin and Oleg Topoev.
The main composer who wrote all the music for the picture was Vladimir Davydenko.
Costume designers were Igor Kotsarev and Maria Fomina.
The producers were: Galina Sementseva, Valentina Mikhaleva, Lev Karakhan and Katerina Kalinina.
About three hundred people starred in the series, in addition to people engaged in leading roles (discussed above). The series turned out in this regard - very large-scale. If you look at the content of the series, “The Long Way Home” is a very social, very “crowded” film and, probably, that is why it attracted such a large audience. After all, every viewer, I think, had the opportunity to "find himself" among the characters of this film adaptation.
Interesting Facts
The premiere was originally held in Israel, and only then - after almost a year, the film showed "Channel One".
The writer Svetlana Petrova refused to get acquainted with the director Olga Dobrova-Kulikova.
Initially, when the script was written, completely different actors were nominated for the role - not one of those who starred in the main list was listed.
