Kamui at Gintama is the leader of the seventh detachment of Harusame. His parents are Koki and Umibozu, and his sister is Kagura, one of the main characters of the anime. He has a very aggressive disposition and a strong desire to kill his father.
Appearance
In the Gintama anime, yato Kamui has blue eyes, unlike manga, where his eyes are purple. His hair is red, like that of his sister. Their length reaches the lower back, and they are always tied in a braid. One of the strands of his hair always sticks out at the top of his head.
He uses the martial arts inherent in his race, and is always dressed in the traditional clothes of his nation - a black top with elbow-length sleeves, as well as a white clasp in front and a smell to the right. He also puts on gray trousers that extend to the middle of his lower leg.
Like all yato in the anime "Gintama", Kamui has very fair skin. His body is well developed, as it should be with a real space pirate and killer, and is distinguished by powerful and flexible muscles. Only at first glance, Kamui in "Gintama" can seem like a funny and sweet guy. His appearance is extremely deceiving. Behind such a sweet and harmless smile hides a real monster who lives for the battles and blood of his enemies. The meaning of his life is to become the strongest creature in the entire universe.
Kamui is a member of the yato race - the strongest mercenaries in the entire universe. He does not like wimps and always tries to find an opponent of equal or superior strength. He is convinced that the race must always be on the battlefield. This is one of his main disagreements with Hosen, who has long lived in Yoshiwara as her ruler. In addition, he believes that emotional bonds between family members are just a manifestation of weakness.
However, according to Umibozu, the guy was not always distinguished by such a cruel disposition. He used to be a loving boy, primarily taking care of his family and constantly hiding his hands in his pockets so as not to show injuries. He did not want his sick mother to worry about him, because she was bedridden and could not do household chores. It was Kamui who dealt with affairs for her, constantly protecting her little sister.
However, Kamui grew up and became a sadist. His aggression is constantly manifested during the battles, in particular, during a duel with Hosen, Sogo, as well as during his fierce battle against his sister.
As can be seen in the subsequent arches, Kamui has a great appetite, like his younger sister, but he is still the biggest eater in the whole anime.
History of Kamui
The head of their family is Umibozu - the strongest of the living mercenaries in the universe.
As a child, Kamui joins Harusama, because with his strength and tenacity he managed to impress Hosen himself. Nevertheless, after several years, Hosen decides to stay in Yoshiwara. He transferred the title of captain of the seventh division to his talented student. The meeting with Abuto occurred before Kamui became a member of the space pirates.
In Gintama, Kamui also assumed the title of the new King of the Night after Hosen died at the hands of Gintoka during the Yeshivara Arch. The samurai became interested in Kamui, and he decided to save his life in such a way that one day he would face him in a fight.
Kamui later had a conflict with Admiral Aobu, who decided to kill him by destroying the Seventh Detachment in order to stabilize the situation in Harusama. Nevertheless, Kamui enlisted the support of Shinske, and he helped not only to avoid certain death, but also to counterattack opponents. As a result, most of the Twelve Captains of Harusame were defeated, and Kamui became the Idiot Admiral, as he called himself.
Relationship with sister
In Gintama, Kagura and Kamui have a sister and a brother. Kamui took care of her when she was little, since her mother was always sick, and Umibozu was often on other planets for work. He claims that he sees nothing in his sister but a crybaby and repeatedly tried to kill her. Kamui told his sister that he was not interested in weaklings like her. His opinion changed after the events in the 521st chapter of the manga, in which Kamui recognizes his sister's abilities.
