Kingston met her first husband, actor Ralph Fiennes, as a student, attending the Academy of Dramatic Art in the city of Londoy. Together, the couple lasted for twelve years, while the legal marriage lasted only four years. The lovers married in 1993, and filed for divorce in 1997. The reason for the separation was Fyna's betrayal with actress Francesca Anis.
In the same year, Alex Kingston met a journalist named Florian Hertel, who worked in Germany. The couple officially formalized their union in 1998. Three years later, Alex and Florian had a daughter, who was given the name Salome. The couple broke up in 2001.
July 2005 presented the actress with new major changes in her personal life - the third marriage with producer Jonathan Stemp. The couple held a ceremony in Rome. Currently, Kingston lives in two countries at once - in the UK and the USA.
