The list of references for grade 5 can be divided into 4 sections. These are myths and fairy tales, works of foreign authors, domestic writers of the 19th and 20th centuries. All books are multi-genre - there is prose, poetry, and even such a genre as fairy tales, plays. Teachers recommend reading at least 6-7 pages daily in order to have time to master the entire list of recommended literature for grade 5 over the summer months.

The most voluminous work on the list is the story of Robinson Crusoe, written by Daniel Defoe. This is about a third of the entire list of summer books.

Tales and myths

A special place in the list of literature for the 5th grade is occupied by the myths of Ancient Greece. About the exploits of the most famous Greek hero is narrated by the myth of Hercules. Students learn how Hercules was accepted into the service of the king, fought with the hydra, visited the kingdom of the Amazons, and how he cleaned the stall of Avgius in just one day.
