FPR Powerlifting Ranks: A Tip for Athletes

Powerlifting is a popular sport in Russia, which is actively developing at present. Unlike bodybuilding, in triathlon, power characteristics are important, not the topography and beauty of the body. Competitions held by the "Powerlifting Federation of Russia" at different levels of the country help to identify the most powerful athletes with well-developed physical characteristics that are able to withstand the resistance to the most heavy weight according to the results of three basic exercises.

Powerlifting Federation of Russia (FPR)

The Russian Powerlifting Federation was established in 1990. The first president of the community was S. Ananyevsky - the head coach of the national team. Today, this sports association is the only accredited organization in the State Sports Committee among the other triathlon associations and is part of the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF). FPR competitions are held in accordance with strict regulations with a mandatory doping test, in full compliance with IPF rules and standards. According to the results of regional and federal competitions held by the RF, athletes are awarded titles that are recognized throughout Russia. The titles won at the championships of alternative powerlifting organizations do not officially operate at the Russian level. Thanks to the joint efforts of IPF and the PDF to standardize all the conditions of the competition, this sport can be included in the Olympic Games in the future.
