Very soon, the European Championship will start on the football fields of France. Only the best teams of the Old World will fight each other for an honorary trophy. Among the participants of the tournament there is a national team of Russia. The coach summoned 23 players to the team, among whom there are both those who are considered stellar, and players who got into the team due to their ability to work. One of these hard workers is Oleg Ivanov - a football player who can make a big contribution to the success of the team.
Career difficulties
Not at the expense of any special talent Oleg Ivanov stands out. The biography of the player is not distinguished by any brilliant facts. He was born in Moscow in August 1986. He was brought up in the football schools of Spartak and Lokomotiv. In Spartak, he also became a professional player in 2004. Not everything turned out smoothly, and I had to go to the Khimki team near Moscow. And already in 2006 Oleg Ivanov moved to Krasnodar to play for the Kuban team. And not just perform. The footballer helped the team get into the Premier League, scored 9 goals, which is very good for the midfielder. With a sense of accomplishment, he changed his team to Wings of the Soviets from the city of Samara.
In 2011, Oleg Ivanov transferred to the eponymous club from Rostov, but something went wrong after the coaching staff of the team changed. Sergei Balakhnin and Yuri Belous did not like something. Oleg was first expelled from the main team, and then completely removed from the training process. After the player even stopped paying salaries, he had no choice but to go to court.
Rebirth
At the end of 2011, Ivanov moved to the club from Grozny - “Terek”, where the football player has been playing to this day. Oleg is very grateful to the club and its leadership, because it was here that the difficult period ended when it was often necessary to change teams for one reason or another. The most difficult stages of a football career were left behind, and Oleg Ivanov again flourished as a player.
Now he is steadily coming out in the starting lineup, playing well, and the national team's coaching staff could not help but pay his attention to the midfielder. And this is not the first time that Oleg is interested in the national team. After all, he is the bronze medalist of the 2008 European Championship . The same championship that every Russian fan still remembers. The brilliant game of the national team in the semifinals, the relegation of a strong Dutch team - this cannot be forgotten. Team game
Before the start of the tournament, Guus Hiddink challenged the player to the team for training. At first, it was not possible to get into the final squad, since at that time there were a lot of mid-line players in the team. But Oleg Ivanov remained in the national team’s camp to participate in training. Before the start of the tournament in a friendly match, striker Pogrebnyak was injured, and on the day the championship began Oleg was nevertheless declared to participate. It didn’t work then, but the fact that he was in the national team speaks volumes.
Oleg Ivanov made his debut in the Russian national team in June 2015 in a match against the team of Belarus.
Bright future
Now domestic top clubs, such as Spartak and CSKA, are showing interest in the midfielder. Oleg even agreed to go to the army camp, but in the end the deal fell through.
The player’s favorite position is midfield. He likes to play in the center of the field, often work with the ball, and launch team attacks.
In friendly games before Euro 2016, Oleg Ivanov took to the field and played reliably. His abilities are well known to the head coach of the national team Slutsky. And, perhaps, Ivanov will play one of the defining roles in the team’s game, and Russia will be proud of him.
