Whatever area of our life we touch upon, it is important to observe certain rules everywhere so that order does not reign in chaos. Each of us is an independent person who must know our rights, but we should not forget that each person has certain responsibilities.
Most often, when a child crosses the threshold of school and comes to first grade, he should have an idea of what the rights and obligations of the teacher and student are. Parents can introduce the most basic of them to the baby. In the article we will try to analyze in more detail not only the rights of the student in the school of the Russian Federation, but we will not forget about their immediate responsibilities.
The right to basic education
The rights of citizens of our country are spelled out in our constitution, one of which is the right to education. The state needs competent and educated people. Therefore, education in high school is currently provided free of charge. This refers to state educational institutions. Parents have the right to send their child to a private school, but there you will have to pay for tuition.
Children come to school to receive knowledge, but before starting to study, the rights of a student of the 1st grade should be clarified by the class teacher. We must not forget that already in elementary school, children should be well acquainted with their responsibilities.
Everyone has the right to secondary education, regardless of nationality, age, gender or religious belief. Every resident of Russia is obliged to study at school. The state fully provides the entire educational process financially - from textbooks to visual aids and the necessary equipment.
At the end of school, a certificate of secondary education is issued, but to obtain it you must pass the final exams, which will confirm that the child did not go to school for 11 years in vain. Only with this document does the graduate have the full right to continue his education in a higher or secondary specialized institution.
What the student is entitled to
Having crossed the threshold of a school, a small child is no longer just a child of his parents, but also a student. At the first class hour, the first teacher must familiarize herself with the rules of conduct at school, as well as with the fact that the child has every right to be inside the school. Student rights are as follows:
- Each student has every right to receive not only primary, but also secondary education for free.
- Each student, if desired, can participate in the management of the school, all this is usually prescribed in the Charter.
- A small child is already a full-fledged personality, which has the right to respect from teachers and all employees of the institution.
- The student has the right to know his mark both for written work and for verbal answers.
- The child can participate in all school activities that are appropriate for his age category.
- There is a right to voluntary participation in work.
- What the student has the right to do is to ask the teacher for free in acquiring knowledge on the subject that is available in the school curriculum.
- Each child can organize various associations within the walls of the school that do not contradict the school charter.
- Students must have time to relax between classes, as well as during vacation time.
- Each student has the right to be listened carefully.
- In academic life and in extracurricular activities, students can uphold their principles and views in cases where a controversial situation arises.
The rights of a student of the Russian Federation also have a clause that, if desired, the child can always go to another school. Home-schooling, externship or early exams are not prohibited.
Student rights in the lesson
You can name individual paragraphs that explain what the rights of the student at school in the classroom. Among many, I want to note the following:
- The student can always express his opinion in the lesson.
- The child has the right to go to the toilet, warning the teacher.
- All grades that are given in this subject, the student must know.
- Each child can correct the teacher if he made an inaccuracy in his speech regarding the topic of the lesson.
- After the bell rings, the child can leave the classroom.
This, of course, is not all the rights of the student, you can name others that are no longer directly related to the educational process.
The right to a healthy education
Each student can not only receive free education, but also has the right to ensure that it is full, high-quality and, most importantly, safe for the health of the child. Maintaining a healthy atmosphere at school is very important, and in order for it to be so, it is necessary to adhere to certain conditions:
- The child has the full right to receive free medical care during the school day, if necessary.
- Throughout the school, cleanliness must be maintained.
- All classrooms are required to have good lighting.
- The temperature in the classrooms, gym, workshops should be within the limits that are prescribed in the sanitary requirements.
- Noise levels must not be exceeded.
- In the school canteen, children are required to provide quality and healthy nutrition.
- School toilets should have all the necessary hygiene products: soap, towel, toilet paper.
Parents not only can, but must also monitor how the student’s rights are respected at school. Parent committees can be created for this, each parent has the right to come to school and look at the conditions of study.
What a student must do
The student’s school rights are good, but do not forget that each person has his own circle of responsibilities that he must fulfill. This also applies to students in school. Here is a list of some of the responsibilities of children within the school:
- First of all, the student must respect not only teachers, but all school workers.
- Respectfully refers to the results of another's labor.
- The most important, probably, the responsibility of the student is a conscientious attitude to school.
- Compliance with the school regime: come to classes and leave at the strictly allotted time.
- After admission, the student must come to school with an explanatory document, it can be a medical certificate in case of illness or a note from the parents.
- Each student is required to come to school clean and tidy.
- At lessons it is necessary to observe safety precautions, especially with regard to physical education, lessons of technology, physics, chemistry.
- The child is obliged to submit to the teacher a diary at his request.
- Before the start of the school year, parents must provide their child with all the necessary accessories.
- In order to obtain deep and lasting knowledge, the student in the lesson must carefully listen to, perform all the tasks that the teacher gives.
All the rights and obligations of the student in the school should not only be known to adults and children, but also must be fulfilled.
What is forbidden to students at school
There are some things that are forbidden for children to do at school:
- In no case should you bring dangerous objects, for example, weapons, ammunition, with you to classes.
- Provoke conflicts that end in a fight, as well as take part in the dismantling of other students.
- It is forbidden for a student to skip classes without good reason.
- It is strictly forbidden to bring alcoholic beverages, to consume them at school or to come intoxicated.
- Smoking is prohibited on school grounds. For this, students can be placed on the school register and fined by their parents.
- It is unacceptable to gamble within the walls of the school.
- It is forbidden to steal other people's things, school supplies.
- Damage to school property will be punished.
- It is forbidden to rudely and disrespectfully contact the administration of the institution or the teacher.
- The student should not ignore the comments of teachers.
- Every child in the school should know that he is forbidden to attend classes without completed homework, although there are plenty of such unscrupulous students in each school.
If the rights and obligations of the student are always respected in all educational institutions, then school life will be interesting and organized, and all participants in the educational process will be satisfied with everything.
What is a teacher entitled to at school
It is impossible to imagine a lesson without a teacher. Teachers are guides to the world of knowledge. The rights of the student and teacher at school are not exactly the same, here is a list of what the latter has the right to:
- Each teacher can participate in the management of the school in accordance with the school charter.
- Has the right to respect for his personality, as well as respect for professional qualities, just as the rights of a student include a clause on respect for the personality of the child.
- The teacher has the right to protection from the administration against the intervention of parents in those issues that are part of his responsibilities.
- Teachers at their discretion can choose curricula, textbooks and manuals for them.
- The teacher can expect to receive any information from the administration of the institution.
- Teachers have the right to express their opinion on the curriculum, the school’s working hours and other issues related to its professional activities.
- All teachers are free to take part in the work of methodological associations and creative groups, to participate in professional competitions.
- According to the new Law on Education, every teacher can count on free professional development once every three years.
- Working in a normal working environment is also a teacher’s rights.
- Not only the student’s school rights contain a clause on the right to stay safely within the walls of the educational institution, but teachers can count on this.
- The right to inviolability of personal property.
- One of the points can be called the right to improve their working conditions and protect their health.
In addition to rights, of course, there is a list of responsibilities that each teacher must fulfill.
Teacher Responsibilities
Despite the fact that teachers are adults and the whole educational process is based on them, the list of responsibilities they have is no less than student:
- Each teacher must comply not only with the school charter, but also follow his job description.
- Pupils should take an example of decent behavior in public places and in an educational institution with teachers, which means they are obliged to set this example.
- Teachers are obliged to respect the personality of the students and to ensure that the rights of the child are respected.
- Respect the parents of children.
- The responsibility of teachers is to improve their professional level.
- Teachers are simply obliged to observe all safety measures to prevent accidents.
- Accurate filling of magazines, timely grading - this is also a direct responsibility of the teacher.
- Pupils should be warned in advance by the teacher about the upcoming test.
- Teachers should not detain students after calling from a lesson.
- The teacher should not evaluate student behavior, but his knowledge.
- When assigning homework, the teacher must take into account that the child is asked in all subjects, and the total volume should not cause overload.
- The teacher is responsible for the health of his students.
- It is unacceptable to simply expel a child from a lesson, if there is a violation of discipline and an obstacle to the educational process, then the offender must be taken to the director or head teacher.
The list of duties is decent. But we will not be tempting, because teachers are also people - not always, especially some points, are respected.
Classroom Rights
After the child crosses the school threshold for the first time, he falls into the hands of his second mother, the class teacher. It is this person who will become their main mentor, advocate and guide to their new school life. All class teachers, as well as other teachers, have their own rights, which are as follows:
- Perhaps the most important right is to ensure that the rights and obligations of the student in the school are respected.
- The class teacher can independently develop at his discretion a program of work with children and their parents.
- May count on the help of the administration.
- It is his right to invite parents to school.
- You can always abandon duties that are not part of his professional career.
- The class teacher has the right to information about the mental and physical health of his students.
To monitor the observance of their rights, first of all, it is necessary to know them well.
What the class teacher is not entitled to
In any institution, there is a trait through which employees should not be crossed under any circumstances. First of all, this concerns educational institutions, since teachers work with the younger generation, which must learn how to become an independent responsible person in the school walls.
- The class teacher does not have the right to humiliate and insult the student.
- It is unacceptable to use marks in the journal as punishment for misconduct.
- We must not break the word given to the child, because we must educate honest citizens of our country.
- It was also not appropriate for the teacher to abuse the child’s trust.
- You can not use the family as a means of punishment.
- Not only for class teachers, but also for all teachers, it’s not very nice and right to discuss behind your colleagues, thereby undermining the authority of the teacher team.
Classroom Responsibilities
In addition to his immediate responsibilities as a teacher, the class teacher still has to perform a number of duties:
- Ensure that the rights and obligations of the student in his class are respected.
- Constantly monitor performance in his ward class and the overall dynamics of its development.
- Keep control of the performance of their students, make sure that students do not allow passes without a valid reason.
- Monitor performance not only at the level of the entire class, but also note the successes and failures of each child so that you can provide the necessary assistance on time.
- It is imperative to attract students of their class to the participation of not only classroom events, but also school-wide ones.
- Starting to work in the classroom, it is imperative to study not only children, but also the features of their life, conditions in the family.
- Observe any deviations in the behavior and development of the child so that psychological help is provided on time. If the situation is quite complicated, then it is necessary to inform the administration of the educational institution.
- Any student can approach the class teacher with his problem, and he must be sure that the conversation will remain between them.
- To work with the parents of their students, to inform them of all misconduct, successes and failures, and to jointly look for ways to solve the problems that have arisen.
- Fill out all the necessary documentation carefully and in a timely manner: journals, personal files, student diaries, identity cards, and more.
- Monitor the health of children, strengthen it, involving students in the work of sports sections.
- The responsibilities of class teachers include organizing the duty of their class in the school and canteen.
- Timely work to identify children from dysfunctional families falling into the “risk group” and conduct individual educational work with them and their families.
- If there are already children from the “risk group” in the class, then it is necessary to constantly monitor attendance, performance and behavior.
We can add that the class teacher is responsible for the life and health of his students during all school and class events. If in the process of his work the teacher violated the student’s rights by applying methods of physical or mental violence against him, he can be released from his duties, and in some cases brought to criminal liability.
In order for the situation within the walls of the educational institution to be friendly and favorable for the development of knowledge, it is necessary for parents to instill in their children the rules of good behavior from early childhood. But within the walls of an educational institution for children, it is already important to know not only the rights of the student in the school, but also the circle of their direct duties. It is important that parents are interested in the school life of their children, be aware of all his failures and successes, his relationship with teachers and peers, and if necessary, be able to protect their rights.
