Colpitis in men does not have an active stage and is asymptomatic. Serious problems associated with this disease occur mostly in women. This is due to the fact that the structure of the male genital organs does not contribute to the occurrence of inflammatory processes. However, colpitis in men still shows its inactive signs. It proceeds asymptomatically, while the male body does not experience any discomfort. A man is just a carrier of this infection.
The causative agents of colpitis are viruses or microorganisms that most often settle in the human digestive system, namely, in the colon and small intestine. For microbes, this area is quite favorable. In women, the active actions of microorganisms can be caused by various reasons: a decrease in immunity, mental disorders and moral distress, great stress or prolonged depression. The result of this is the occurrence of inflammation in the vagina, which leads to various complications. Vaginal lesions, tears in the mucous membrane and some other causes can also contribute to colpitis. If characteristic symptoms of this disease are detected, treatment should be started immediately, resorting to the help of a specialist. Otherwise, various unpleasant complications may arise. And if the uterus is involved in them, then this can lead to an inability to give birth to a child.
Colpitis in men cannot manifest itself strongly in the genitals due to the lack of the vagina and, accordingly, the mucous membrane. Men in this sense are not threatened with irritation and inflammation of their organs. Of course, a lot of trouble is delivered by a man as a carrier of viruses and microorganisms that are the causative agents of various colpitis diseases. First of all, a woman - a sexual partner is exposed to infection. And if, moreover, her immune system is lowered , then this disease will occur immediately in an acute form. Serious harm can be done to pregnant women. Therefore, arising colpitis in men should be treated. For this, there are special drugs that destroy the causative agents of this disease. But they are prescribed only by a doctor and then after appropriate tests.
Trichomonas colpitis in men can cause a number of unpleasant consequences, for example, damage to the seminal vesicles, prostate gland, urethra, testicular appendages. Most often, men are susceptible to this disease during the period of the most active sexual relations. Trichomonas infection can also manifest itself asymptomatically similar to the above colpitis. Men are more likely to be latent than women. Basically, Trichomonas is detected in the sexual partners of an infected woman.
Nonspecific colpitis is an infectious lesion of the vagina, accompanied by an inflammatory process. The disease is caused by the action of microorganisms such as E. coli, staphylococci, streptococci and others. Purulent and mucous discharge accompany this disease. It occurs in both young women and the elderly. At a young age in women, the causes of the disease can be a general infectious disease, a decrease in ovarian function, and endocrine pathology. In old age, vaginal inflammation can be a consequence of the cessation of the production of lactic acid from glycogen, which creates a favorable environment for the development of lactic acid bacteria.
With nonspecific colpitis, itching may also occur. The mucous membrane of the vagina acquires a bright red color. Small hemorrhages, swelling may appear on it.
For the treatment of this disease, drugs are used that normalize the vaginal environment, as well as antibacterial vaginal suppositories.
