VPO-136 is a civilian weapon that was produced from a combat machine. A rather important feature of this carbine is that it left the possibility of using original army stores, and in addition, it also provides the possibility of installing specialized muzzle attachments. Many experts recommend using a long machine gun flash suppressor in VPO-136 or all kinds of nozzles designed for idle shooting. In addition, there is also the presence of punching, which eliminates the weakening of the barrel and self-destructs after 100-200 shots, while it is even theoretically unable to incise the shell of the bullet.
The big disadvantage of this weapon is the presence of a brewed stock screw. On some carbines, the tree is far from in the best condition, which can provoke a variety of problems.

What are its differences from AK?

Changes and additions
It was decided to replace the trigger, that is, the removed parts of the automatic trigger, instead of which they put the trigger, which is typical for Vepr carbines. Of the automatic parts, they decided to leave only a translator fuse.

First of all, it is worth noting that the use of army stores is provided for in this carbine if capacity limiters are installed in them. Thus, for example, it is possible to fasten the RPK store to these weapons without any problems.

It is worth noting the fact that, in accordance with applicable law, weapons such as VPO-133 or VPO-136 must have a magazine maximum capacity of 10 rounds, and not the amount that was originally provided in the store. Thus, if the owner of the carbine is caught with a full army store fastened, there will be every reason to draw up a protocol and to punish the owner of this weapon in the future.
Muzzle nozzle
The unmatched muzzle attachment is a thread protection nut or a specialized expansion joint. Due to this, it is absolutely legal to combine such a carbine with a variety of DTKs and flame arresters. But at the same time, do not forget that the use of any device that provides a reduction in the sound of a shot is strictly prohibited. If you have a specific muffler model that does not impede the passage of the bullet, but does not drown out the sound of the shot, you can use it using it exclusively for decorative purposes.
Many people pay special attention to the fact that, despite the length of the VPO-136 with a muzzle attachment, the gun has an integral bayonet mount, and there are no prohibitions in the current legislation that could limit the possibility of using it on these weapons . It should be noted that, for example, souvenir versions of NS-AK knives are freely available, and nothing prohibits their use on this carbine.
Additional features
In VPO-136, the characteristics provide for the completion of specialized 30-seater "landing" or steel stores with a U-shaped wire limiter in their design. Absolutely all original hallmarks were also saved, while the carabiner’s number is the number of the machine that was used as a “donor”.
In VPO-136 (photo above), the pin in the barrel is completely absent, and at the same time there is no weakening through drilling, that is, nothing will scratch the bullet. There is also no hole in the chamber, and the chrome has remained absolutely untouched here, as a result of which, after the shot is fired, the sleeve will remain perfectly intact.

There are no standard ramrods, as a result of which carbines are equipped with long, but at the same time thin ramrods from the standard Boar. They do not fit well in a regular place, and standard automatic accessories cannot screw onto this ramrod.
Also, there are no standard pencil cases for cleaning, as a result of which carbines are complemented by semi-complete pencil cases of a modern type. Accessories cannot be screwed onto a standard AK / AKM from this pencil case.
Among other things, there are no belts, but in fact this is not such a serious drawback, because they can always be purchased with hands.
It is also worth noting the fact that in the latest versions the equipment provides for the presence of a “native” pencil case and ramrod, and at the same time an additional ramrod from Vepr is also included in the kit.
Possible disadvantages
There are certain defects on the grooves. In principle, these defects can represent certain sores of rust on the grooves, which are independently eliminated during the shooting process, however, chrome suffers in these places, which is quite an important point. The carabiner continues to shoot quite normally, but at the same time, quite a lot of effort must be made in the process of cleaning it. In addition, there are small surface foci of rust on the outer surfaces, which does not affect the parameters, but requires quick elimination.
There are devices in which a replaced tree is present, that is, a number is set that differs from the original number of this carbine. Also, in some cases, devices with a smaller or a larger shot are found. Depreciation is absent, since the residual resource is quite sufficient for the further operation of such weapons, but at the same time in the process of use this is slightly reflected and noticeable for experienced specialists. Although at the same time it is often about VPO-136, reviews indicate that there are such devices that are altered to almost perfect condition or with minimal shooting.
Differences from VPO-133
Many do not know what the difference between VPO-133 and VPO-136 is, whether it is worth changing one carbine to another, but in fact there are a lot of differences, and some are for the better.
First of all, many note an absolutely untouched "cracker" in front of the chamber, as well as the lack of replacement of the magazine latch. Due to this, standard army stores can be used in VPO-136 without the need for any modification (of course, in addition to installing an additional limiter). Also, many note the presence of an un welded muzzle nozzle and a “plug” of the third axis.
Easy punching instead of a pin in the role of krimmetki in the barrel allows to achieve greater durability of such weapons. It is worth noting that due to the lack of a pin and, therefore, through-hole drilling in the barrel, there is no loosening in it, and nothing will scratch the bullet during the shot. Among other things, there was no hole in the chamber, and chrome was not touched here.
What to consider when choosing?
If you choose VPO-136, the review should begin with the appearance of this unit. You don’t even have to pay attention to such elements as the condition of the tree on the gas pipe or the forend, since if necessary it can be quite simply replaced, because the cost of the kit is 300 rubles. Also, do not think about using a whistle or a nut, because it also changes quite simply and has approximately the same cost. It is best to choose a machine that is in good technical condition, and only then replace the nut and forend on it, than to choose a device immediately with the ideal state of the whistle and forend, but then discover that the gas piston is burnt out or there are any serious damage to the trunk.

Do not forget that on wooden parts quite often there are all kinds of scratches and nicks that are not overwritten during operation, and this does not indicate a solid shot of the machine, but is a result of incorrect storage in the warehouse. If there are certain abrasions on the tree, this already indicates that the machine was quite often exploited and could shoot quite often. Among other things, you can beware of the presence of wooden parts on the lacquer coating, as they indicate a re-coating of the tree, that is, it was badly worn.
