In the multi-part film “Owl Cry”, the actors are immersed in the realities of the 50s, when Soviet law enforcement agencies had to fight not only with organized crime, but also with foreign intelligence agents. Who starred in Oleg Pogodin’s fascinating espionage series?

Yevgeny Dyatlov, in a spy film commissioned by Channel One, plays Soviet police officer Yuri Sirotin, who was seriously injured by criminals in a gang shootout. The captain is delivered to the nearest medical facility in an unconscious state, but in delirium, Yuri suddenly begins to speak German. You will not envy the further fate of the hero: not only the struggle for his own life awaits him, but also long investigative proceedings.

Evgeny Dyatlov quite often starred in a wide variety of series. He began with episodic roles in such serial films as "Agent of National Security", "Gangster Petersburg" and "Cinderella Hunt". Recently, the central actor is increasingly trusted by the central characters: he played police major Kravtsov in the serial film “Mentor”, a pilot in the biographical film “Chkalov” and senior security officer Dymov in the crime film “Samurai Honor”.

In the film “Owl Scream”, actors Sergei Puskepalis and Andrei Merzlikin play competitors whose interests clash in several issues at once.

Firstly, the KGB captain Ivan Mitin arrives from the capital in a provincial city, where police major Balakhnin (Andrei Merzlikin) decides many issues, and conducts an investigation there on his territory, which cannot but annoy the latter. Secondly, Mitin begins to look after a girl whom Andrei Balakhnin looks like. However, both of them still have to unite in one team in order to confront the local enemy agents and gangs.

Sergei Puskepalis is a famous theater director, which is why he appears infrequently in films. Of his last works as an actor, one can note the role of Zaitsev in the Hollywood film "The Black Sea", the platoon commander in the military drama "Battle for Sevastopol", as well as the participant of the icebreaker team "Mikhail Gromov" from the disaster film "Icebreaker", which will be released in 2016.

"Owl Scream": actors. Andrey Merzlikin as Balakhnin

One of the main roles in the series “Owl Scream” went to the famous Russian actor Andrei Merzlikin.

The actor first appeared in films in 1997, playing a cameo role in the film "Ayloster." Until 2003, the artist appeared exclusively in episodes of a wide variety of films and series: Eldar Ryazanov’s comedy “Old Nags”, the serial film “Truckers”, etc. In 2003, the actor’s name became known throughout Russia due to the fact that he played a major role in the acclaimed film "Boomer." Further, the career of Andrei Merzlikin developed on an increasing basis. Nowadays, he does not always play the main roles, but remains a very sought-after artist. In 2016 alone, five film premieres will take place with his participation.

In the drama “Scream of an Owl”, the actors Merzlikin and Puskepalis, or rather their screen characters, do not get along. Andrei Ilyich plays the head of the UGRO of a provincial city. He is used to keeping everything under control, and he does not like at all that the visiting captain starts hosting on his territory. But circumstances force the two heroes to unite in one team to cope with real enemies.

M. Mironova as Nina Kaverina

Maria Mironova in The Owl’s Scream plays a woman who became an apple of discord for Captain Mitin and Major Balakhnin. Her heroine Nina Kaverina works at the post office. And it so happened that the captain and the major liked the woman at the same time.

By the way, Maria Mironova has been constantly playing similar roles recently: in the TV series Motherland, her heroine stands between two brothers, in the film Sniper: weapons of retaliation Masha Guseva, performed by the actress, is also liked by two men at once, and in the State Counselor Mironova generally got the role of a prostitute.

Two premieres are planned for 2016 with the participation of Maria: she will play in the drama Sarik Andreasyan "Earthquake" and in the serial detective "Investigator Tikhonov."

Sergey Yushkevich (Tula-Tokarev), who played one of the members of the Crow gang, is also present in the TV series Scream of Owls. The very leader - a bloodthirsty and unprincipled criminal - was played by Igor Savochkin (Silent Outpost).
