The All-Russian Spassky Fair is a celebration of creativity, Russian culture. This is fun. Having opened the city of craftsmen in the city of Elabuga, the organizers want to renew such a part of Russian culture as the fair. After all, such an event since ancient times was important for every Russian person, where it was possible not only to have fun with family and friends, but also to buy folk goods.
History
At the end of the XIX - the first half of the XX centuries, this fair was one of the most popular. She stood on a par with such giants in this area as Makaryevsky and Irbitsky bazaars. For most merchants, this was a very popular place to sell their own goods. But, unfortunately, at the beginning of the XX century the fair under consideration was closed.
After a long break that lasted for half a century, in 2008 the Spassky Fair in Yelabuga was reopened. The initiator of the renewal of this tradition was the various ministries of the Yelabuga municipal district together with the Ministry of the Republic of Tatarstan, and many museums and nature reserves in this area also supported. The purpose of this decision is to renew respect for Russian traditions and culture.
How to get to the fair?
The first problem that a visitor to this fair may encounter is what options exist for traveling to the event. The address of the Spassky Fair is the Republic of Tatarstan, the city of Elabuga, Gassara Street, house 6. In order to get there, you have two options - train or plane.
If you choose the first point, then you must choose the flight "Moscow - Nizhnekamsk". This is a direct flight, so the flight time will be 1 hour 45 minutes. The airport where you arrive is located in the city itself. From the point of arrival to Yelabuga can be reached by transfer. Travel time will take 30 minutes.
As for the second point, then you should choose the direction "Moscow - Naberezhnye Chelny". Travel time is 22 hours 8 minutes. From there you will have to get to the venue of the fair by transfer within 20 minutes.

X anniversary fair
In August, from the 4th to the 6th, the Spassky Fair was held in 2017. This event is already traditionally one of the brightest events of the summer, and it has already been included in the list of tourist events in Russia. All photos of the Spassky Fair are striking in their brilliance.
This year, on a joint initiative of the Association of Museums, together with the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan , the Museum Bazaar: Museum Souvenirs Fair was first created, which aims to glorify Russian folk traditions and culture.
During the three holidays, many interactive events were held. In addition to trade in art and arts and crafts, which is a key event of any fair, the City of Masters was organized, where one could watch how unique products, agricultural products, the organization of sports and playgrounds for children, circus and folk groups. Also, on the basis of the fair, the X festival of the author’s song "Inspiration" was organized. One of the key events was the III Bell Ringing Festival. Ringer from different parts of our country presented their technique and melodies that fascinated the audience.
In addition to entertainment, a platform for discussion of the glorification of our folk art was organized at the presented festival of Russian culture. In 2017, a round table was formed, which was aimed at renewing the veneration of folk crafts and traditions.
Schedule of the Spassky Fair held in 2017
On August 4, the bazaar began its work. From the very early hours of the morning until 8 o’clock, the registration of participants (ringer, masters, etc.) was carried out, until 9 o’clock the participants had to place their products in the shopping arcade, as visitors enter from that moment on. Before 21 hours, the fair begins an active activity, which includes:
- the activities of the "City of Masters", which included the sale of arts and crafts and crafts, as well as workshops of folk crafts;
- performance of participants in the bell ringing program;
- opening of the republican "Streets of Museums" and the festival of Russian patrimonial estates;
- a concert program in which folklore groups participated;
- active work of retail outlets, children's attractions, food courts.
In addition to interactive events, the opening of the tenth Anniversary Spasskaya Fair, as well as the traditional Bell Ringing Festival, which took place at 12:00 - 12:30, was included in the fair's work schedule. There was also a ceremony for presenting awards in the time period from 16:30 to 19:30, dedicated to the IX All-Russian prize "Keepers of Heritage" on the initiative of the estate of I. I. Shishkin.
The second day, namely August 5, was even brighter for the events. The main events of the first day continued their work. Of the key events should be highlighted:
- festival of the author’s song "Inspiration" (10: 00-16: 00);
- ring-concert of the participants of the Bell Festival (13: 00-15: 00);
- gala concert of the festival "Inspiration" (19: 00-21: 00);
- bonfire at the fair (21:00);
- Festival of water lanterns (21: 00-22: 00).
On the final day, to the active and vibrant fair events such main events as:
- a big concert of ringing the participants of the Bell Festival, as well as rewarding with diplomas (11: 00-13: 00);
- Grand closing of the X All-Russian Spassky Fair in the city of Elabuga (16: 00-17: 00)

In the 20s, one of the main events of the Republic of Tatarstan opened its doors to visitors. The chain of events was launched by a round table devoted to the theme of artistic crafts, where their revival and development in modern realities were discussed. Despite the bad weather, the flow of visitors did not stop, and retail outlets pleased with a variety of Russian drinks and dishes. Fun, enthusiasm and bell ringing accompanied all the holidays.
V Fair 2012
The specific Spassky Fair was remembered by the guests as the first anniversary, which was celebrated with the breadth of the Russian soul. The organizers prepared a lot of interesting and memorable for visitors of different ages. In addition to the usual schedule of the fair, in 2012 the Turkic Leatherworking Festival was held.
Another reason for such a painstaking organization of the event was the arrival of R.N. Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, who visited this holiday for the first time. The 2012 bazaar was distinguished by a special attitude to the house and the creation of warmth and coziness. A variety of knitted, woven tablecloths, carpets, napkins, dishes from a variety of materials, ranging from wood to porcelain, were presented.

This event last year stood out by holding another bright and unforgettable holiday. During the Spassky Fair, the II Festival of Small Tourist Cities of Russia was organized. Each of the participating countries presented its business cards, both in architecture and in folk dishes. This site has become a place of unification of almost all nationalities of Russia. Once again, it was confirmed that art unites peoples. Folk songs, dances, festivities, children's laughter were heard these days in all corners of the fair.
